  • I've just had the contract for switching to flogas emailed to me and it mentions delivery charges but doesn't quantify them. Does anyone pay for delivery with them? They are not mentioned in any quotes recently put on this site.

I have never heard of anyone having to pay delivery charges, ever, whilst in contract. If it is a concern, phone them and ask them to clarify. They will happily email you with a disclaimer.
If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..
  • Thanks JerryW. You were right , they confirmed 'no delivery charges unless out of contract'.

Good.. though it does make you wonder why it is in the contract, if you have to be out of it to have them!
Lot of gold-plating in those contracts, I think

  • So I'm currently with flogas, just out of contract. ~2500litres per year. UG tank.
    Current quotes-
Calor- 48.9ppl Yr1, Variable Yr2, but with a break clause if they go over 3.5ppl increase per qtr. £91py for tank rental
    Avanti- 49ppl Yr1, Variable Yr2 OR 57ppl for 24 months. £110py tank rental
    Lpg-save- 48ppl Yr1, Yr2 9ppl price cap OR 52ppl for 24 months
    Jgas- no response yet
Flogas just said they'd match lpg-save.

Sorry I didn't get all the tank rental prices. All prices +5% VAT

Any other options for South Oxfordshire?

    Hi,
Does LPG cost vary massively by area?
I am in North Essex and currently with Calor and the cost seems to have shot up and is way more than others mention in this forum :-(

My useage is a little over 1000 litres per annum

Standing Charge 25.13p per day (+ VAT at 5%)
    LPG 75.4 per litre (+VAT at 5%)

I filled up recently (1000 litres) from my local independent in North Hampshire at 48ppl.  I'm not in contract and do not pay a tank rental charge.  I'm part of a buying group in our village (some 15 people)

How can I find a local independent near me (Colchester, Essex)?
I looked on www.liquidgasuk.org/domestic/supplier-search but only Calor, Avanti and Flogas were listed :-(

Just try googling something like "Bulk lpg" Essex... there seem to be several independents around there

1000l pa is on the low side and may push the price up somewhat. But you should not be paying more than 50p/l.
I assume you are out of contract? Surely you did not sign up for that price?!
Let us know your contract situation; you need to complain to Calor
