I'm with Avanti at the moment and up for renewal soon, and need to order gas. On the phone today they've offered 34.3p+VAT, that's my current price and that can be fixed for 12 months, with 2nd year uncapped (the usual 3ppl operational costs bollox).
FYI my renewal with Flogas was the following (see below). The Avanti 2nd year uncapped is always a concern. I would still ring around to check. 1 hour of phone calls/emails might save you £50+ over the 2 years. Avanti might even better their offer if you get can get something better.
    From Nov 2019.......
    • New 2 year supply agreement
    • 36.4ppl + VAT Fixed for 24 months
    • Standing Charge -  (As existing)

That is not a bad price and you may struggle to beat it .. in your shoes, I would say to Avanti that the second year pricing worries you, but if they will cap the price for two years, you will renew the contract. If yes, you will have done well. If no, complain again and say you will look elsewhere. Then you can follow your plan B of leaving it til the Autumn.
Two year caps are uncommon but they do exist, as a trawl through the last dozen or so pages here will show.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!

The second year price doesn't worry me THAT much, I can always squeeze an extra tank into the first year and only have to order once in the second year. That's just about how it's worked out now :)

I agree .. but it is the principle of the thing. NO supplier should be allowed to make us sign a contract that allows for unlimited price increases, without us complaining about it :-)

Just wondering, what with all the recent problems, whether everyone is still getting their LPG deliveries OK? I have put in an order with Avanti this morning, usually they are pretty good, but we shall see ..

I ordered on 15th March and received it 24th March, from Avanti.

Had a nice chat with the driver, from a safe distance...

  • Just had a call from FloGas offering to fix my price for 12-months at 65ppl...  A whopping (NOT) 2.95ppl of the 67.95ppl that I have currently been paying (that's what happens when you end up out of contract and take your eye off the ball!!!  Ouch.).  Any suggestions on a better deal and what 's the going rate at the moment.  My above ground tank doesn't meet current regulation  location requirements too so will a new supplier take it on?

Heavens, just read recent posts here and you will see that you are paying almost double what you should be. Please do read up and then shop around.
So far as tank compliance is concerned, in what way does it not comply? You do not own the tank, Flogas do so they have a legal obligation to make it compliant .. as a suggestion: shop around, find the best quote you can. Accept it .. if they take the tank on, fine. if they don't, get them to be specific about exactly why not. Then go back to Flogas ans tell them you will stay with them if they match the price you were quoted .. and make the tank compliant, as they should.

Just agreed to move to Avanti through Woldlink, I was on the old Woldlink/Flogas monthly deal, new price is 34ppl for 12 months maximum 3ppl increase for the following six months and final six months. Had an offer of an ANSI tracker from Northern Energy at 37ppl. We use about 2000l per year.

Interesting .. if the ANSI tracker is for two years it might be worth thinking about, since Avanti contracts do NOT limit price increases in year 2, whether they say they do, or not ..
