Looks like it's targetted, rather than a general offer. Worth a try, though - might be worth hitting other suppliers with "Look what Flo are offering me - can you do that?", too.
  • I have been told on the phone this is a national offer open to all customers and not only customers who have received their letter. If you can upload it on here you can do. I don't know how to do this.

Have a look at my Twitter account great deal for Flogas customers...

    Dougal,

Forgive me for viewing your posts with a degree if skepticism (and sincere apologies if that skepticism is misplaced), but I note that your first ever post on here was to "advertise" a highly improbable offer from Flogas; likewise, your only "Tweet" ever was to post the implausible letter with all the juicy details of how to sell your soul to Flogas. Your Twitter account is a dubious "Vanilla" account: you have no profile, no profile image, follow just four people (3 Flogas accounts and the Calor corporate account) and have just one follower, "Power Hits UK"!

Nice try, but before you attempt to post any more blatant adverts here, may I respectfully suggest you have a word with Mrs Trellis in your marketing department (based in Syston, I suspect) and ask if she can enrol you on a "Successful Selling on Social Media" beginners course.

    As always, CAVEAT EMPTOR!

    Regards,

    Hamish ;)

This is a genuine letter I have received. I presume this is a national domestic price for all Flogas customers. Give them a ring. I called yesterday and this is the deal!

Hello Dougal - and Hello 'Hamish' (shouldn't that be 'Hatish'?)

I just cannot see this FABULOUS offer from Flogas on their Facebook page - or on their Twitter - WHY NOT?

ANYWAY FLOGAS ARE APPARENTLY OFFERING 38.5PPL (plus a £150 hello) to NEW CUSTOMERS.

SO I SUGGEST ALL THEIR PRESENT CUSTOMERS - PAYING A TAD MORE - POST ON FB AND TWEET...and ask why they cannot pay just 38.5ppl.

But maybe this is a GENUINE introductory offer - which all the poor souls paying a lot more are subsidising (look at HateLPG's latest chart and you can see that this looks well under a 'fair' price). I doubt if any independent could match it ..so the independents go to the wall ..or get bought up by the majors (e.g. Flogas) ...then Calor, Flogas and Avanti have the run of the chickenhouse.

We've had these offers before....and we've had these - ahem, genuine - posts before.

What exactly was the point of the Competition Commission exercise some years ago? And what exactly have the so-called OFT (Office for Fair Trading) done to maintain fair trade? [Answers on the back of a small postage stamp.]

I am not for a minute suggesting that the letter itself was not genuine, I was just questioning the impartiality of the post ;)

On a serious note, may I ask who your previous supplier was? As the letter says "Come Back to Flogas....", I presume that you were with them at some time in the past?

Why did you leave in the first place? I presume it was the age-old Flogas problem of a tasty introductory price, rapidly followed by whopping increases and surcharges? Who have your suppliers been since you left, and how did their price and service compare with your previous experience of Flogas?
  • I left Flogas to move to Calor but have gone back to Flogas because of this deal. I was paying 70p with Flogas before I left them. I am an oap and need the best deal, so was delighted with this deal.

    Welcome to the forum!

Do check out what guarantee you have after the first year fixed price. And check for ANY option Flogas have for over-riding their "fixed" price.

I presume your rental / standing charge /... is the normal £50-70 p.a.

Sounds like you've been burnt by Flogas before! So my 'advice' above is not really necessary. Good luck!

And apologies for my doubts. If you really were a Flo-clone you wouldn't have mentioned paying Flo 70p!

And I hope people paying Flogas over the odds to subsidise this juicy introductory offer will post their prices on Flogas's Facebook page - and tweet them to Flogas too (maybe with a suitable hashtag? #ripoffLPGprices maybe?)

I did wonder whether you had previously been with Calor: in the light of the recent High Court ruling (http://www.mablaw.com/2013/10/vicariously-liability-database-flogas-calor/) I can't help but wonder whether this is a specifically targeted campaign to recover those customers that Flogas lost to Calor as a consequence of Calor's illegal behaviour.
