Not eaten them all yet, i made 16 as the recipe said but [STRIKE]if[/STRIKE] when i make them again i'll make them smaller, i'll try 20 or 24 probably. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I think my OH must have signed up to the GC without my knowledge....got in from work today to find he'd needed to pick up something from Mr T and had been rummaging around in the reduced fridge...I now have some whoopsied sausages, stewing steak and a joint of pork:D
Just wanted to thank DeniseFowler for the recommendation of the book by Gill Holcombe over on Memory Girls Make Do and Mend thread. I have now borrowed a copy from the library and it looks very useful and more important for someone like me who can cook but only enjoys baking tbh:D:D it looks very straightforward. For anyone not familiar with it it comes with the rather catchy title:D as follows:
"How to feed your whole family a healthy, balanced diet with very little money and hardly any time, even if you have a tiny kitchen, only three saucepans [one with an ill-fitting lid] and no fancy gadgets- unless you count the garlic crusher..."
Thought it well worth repeating for anyone who's missed it.

Just logging in to record my spends and to say this book sounds fab so will log off in a minute and do a library catalogue search for it.
Organic delivery today so that was £14-ish. Spent £12 in Morrisons so that's my first £26 of the month. Have food in for the weekend now as well as the remaining pack lunches. Tonight's tea was a veggie stirfry from the glorious veg box. |I get so excited when I come in from work and peek into the garage, where it sits in all its glory. How sad am I??? (no answers)

tried these today for the first time and have to agree that they are really good - sprinkled some dessicated coconut onto the icing and they were far better than anything I've ever had from a bakers and the kids agreed. Looks like I'll be making these again ...... and again ......
