Went to Asda on my way home from w**k and bought milk for the freezer and blew £1 on a frozen brownie pud - I had my interview today and will be starting a new job on 14th:j :j :j - on a months trial to start but hopefully I will be able to get the hang of it and tey will let me stay.;)

I just can't believe that it has all happened in one day!!! so I went to buy something to celebrate- the trouble with being on the OS waggon is that you wander round the shop thinking and end up not buying:rotfl:

So we had a nice pud made extra special with cornish clotted cream that I got last night for 20p.

Spend so far £32 61 as I did quite a big shop late last night but need a few things tomorrow as OH and I heading to Norfolk for a long weekend (28th wed aniv) on Friday morning.

None of the weekend spends will be from GC as we have the money put away for that so I will be refreshed and ready to hand over to my replacement next week and clear my desk (gosh I can't believe that is happening) I have worked at my pressent site for nearly 18 years so I will also be sad to go but at 53 not many girls my age have the chance of a new start so I am going to grab it with both hands.

Well enough of my waffle - when I have enough time I think I'll have a go at the iced fingers as they sem to be something else:D

    Hi,

Another NSD for me – as far as groceries are concerned anyway – did get tempted by the "artisan bread in 5 minutes a day" thread to buy the book of the same name – but considering it an investment! Bagged and froze the rhubarb from the garden and picked the first bowl of strawberries and looks like we should have a bumper crop this year (fingers crossed). Lots of cucumbers in the greenhouse and the courgettes and tomatoes are looking good – so with the apples, gooseberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, raspberries, runner beans, garlic, not to mention the lettuce, spring onions, carrots, assorted herbs and potatoes, we should be able to reduce our grocery spend in the near future.

    Hi all

Have been notably absent due to crash of computer & also indecision about last month's budget which was massivly over. Now this was due to all the MOC £5 coupons in various papers; which I bought & took advantage of. Now my stash of non perishable foodstuffs/dog food/cat food/flour etc is huuge....but I have 2 more MOC this week to spend - I just think it is probably better for me to use them as they won't be going forever.......will they? My hope is that eventually I will have months of really low budgets as I use all this stuff up plus the garden produce if the rotten birds leave me anything that is. I've bought some netting off eBay & it can't come fast enough for me!!! NSD for me today, too.

Yesterday went to Mr Ts & spent enough to get £5 off my shopping & £2.45 off a tank full of petrol, so that was my first grocery spend of this month. Please put me down for £225 for July - you are doing a grand job looking after the thread really well for MrsMC!!!

    Hi everyone.

Just had my tesco delivery it came in at £84.17 after I had to phone about stewing steak 3 packs which were sell by tomorrow use by day after that. I took them out the pack and where they were touching each other they had gone a funny colour. If I cut around the discoloured bits would it be ok?

Could anyone tell me when it says a cup of flour how many ounces is a cup? sorry to sound dim.
hiya,as it stewing steak cooking in a pressure cooker would be fine, you wont even need to remove the discoloured bits,or even a SC would be fine, hth
    family is me,oh,16yDS,10DD,9DS&17month old DS,2dogs,3cats,4bunnies,5 ex battery hens&5fish.GC challenge-/£300:pspends already this month-animal food-£28,mr T shop-£119.plus local shop spends total spent £257,:j
  • Sashanut, your hope maybe realistic. I havent bought meat in 2 months as we are living on stores ( caught the Mr A reductions jsut right one day and filled the freezer). My only caution would be, that I've found once you start haording, it's hard to stop :-).

NSD for me. Cut and come again salad leaves are loving all this rain so tomorrows lunch and tea will include them and some of the sprouting seeds I've been growing on the window sill and some herbs and some of the radish thinnings. Second picking of the salad leaves so those seeds have paid for themselves already. Hoping to have a NSD tomorrow, unless I feel the need to go whoopsy hunting in the evening ( counts as a treat in my life, I know I am deeply sad.)
