    Morning all,

So hard to keep up with all the posts! Hope everyone is healthy and happy and hugs for anyone who's not!

I was hoping to get to the end of the week without spending. I've still got a little left in the budget but I am trying:D to be good. But I have nothing to eat for lunch so it looks like I'm going to have to!

I did get rather motivated and decide to use up some old bananas and made banana bread/cake v. late last night..I make it quite alot but this batch isn't my fave..far too wet for my liking and it didn't rise as much as usual.

And on another baking note does anyone have any ideas on something to add to cheese and courgette scones to make them a bit more interesting?? I made some the other day but they were quite bland and I don't know what I should add...?

    Have a good day everyone!:D

My last 2 banana loaves have been flatter and soggier too :-((

On the cheese/ courgette scone front - a good helping of basil or chives and celery seasoning? Ooh - a few finely chopped sun dried tomatoes (you can make your own in the oven on vv low for a few hours) - yum - may have to experiment later, methinks!

    Morning all,
Glorious here so two loads of washing out (was a good MSE girl and washed the first load last night when leccie is cheaper).
Yesterday was another NSD, updated this yesterday, so am now aiming for 5th day in a row, and 14th of the month :). Determined not to go any more over budget but still have 8 days to go until our August starts!
Did have a lovely burger last night but DH treated us to it, after watching the raft race.
Just deciding now whether to take the two bags of stuff through to the charity shop or not.......might end up buying something there, but that would be ok as have a little of my treats budget left :p !

Hmmm, well we went and delivered two bags of stuff to the charity shop (although they did not seem to want them, did not say thank-you and I heard lots of groans as I walked past the sorting part (not sure if they realised the person walking past was the person who had given them lots of stuff!!)). Was lots of good quality trousers/tops etc too so hopefully someone will appreciate them. Got DS a lovey shirt when I was in and a wee top too which just happened to have his name stitched on!
Managed to spend 66p on some natural yoghurt (was £1.16 but had 50p off voucher) so it was not a GC NSD, and have added to 66p on to my total, making me £12 over for July. I don't need anything else (famous last words)- the yoghurt really could have been classed as a treat but being very good and recording as grocery as will be eating in the house :D .
Lovely here still, just been pruning my toms which all have green toms of varying sizes on them.
Washing should be dry hopefully :T
    Bye for now.
PS Re the bland scones, what about a dash of worcester sauce, some cayenne pepper or some finely sliced caramelised red onion ?

Ah see now I'm trying to decide what he's called- so far I've come up with:
Ben Sherman and Yves St Laurent (then I realised it was DS not DH!) so have moved on to: George, Little Digger, Cheeky Monkey, etc etc!

NSD for me now as we're having salad, wedges and chicken kebabs for tea.
I fugure that if I send the kids into the freezer for an ice pop after tea, I can get them to have a look and see what they fancy for tea the following day.
This encourages them to consider what ingredients are used to make up a meal and I hope it enables them to learn that what looks like having "nothing in" is actually the basis for many many meals!
I still have 3 courgettes in the fridge which I may need to grate and freeze as I don't think I'll be able to use them very quickly.
Having said that, I may grate them up and make a great big courgette cake using my big lasgne dish as I need to put the oven on for the wedges.

LOL no it was a plain blue top which someone else, whose child/grandchild/Godchild or whatever has the same name as DS, had got stitched on.
Hmmmmm, I do think if you were called George it would be cool as you get socks with 'Baby George' on the sole, akin to 'Baby Gap' but then who would call their child Gap ?:o

Great minds think alike :D Although I could only think of George or Next and I thought it highly unlikely that OrkneyStar would have called her baby Next!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

just got back from Mr A's, and he wouldn't take my flippin vouchers  i had £8 worth, so i thought i'd stock up on loo roll, as they weren't technically costing me anything. so i filled me trolley, all went thru the till, only to be told by the cashier she wouldn't take my vouchers.....she only looked about 12 and i had to stop myself from asking why she wasn't at school!! so i've spent nearly 20 quid on loo rolls  mind you, we shouldn't run out for a while now!!

not sure what to do for tea tonight as DS15 and DD18 are at friends houses, and i don't like putting the oven on just for one! i'll probably just have an omelette to use up some of the eggs that have been lurking in the fridge for a while ;)

hope everyone's being good....we're nearly at the end of the month :D
