I'd like to declare £391.17 for July
Target for August will be £300
Just filled the yogurt maker so it'll be brewing overnight (or whatever it is that yogurt does) Was going to make Twinks this evening, but it was such a nice evening that I sat out in the garden with my book and a glass of Pimm's instead
Figured I should make the most of the sun while I could :rotfl: Showers are forecast for tomorrow, so I'll do some baking when I get home.

Hi all,
have well and truly blown my budget (will update later), got a touch at Tesco though as went through the self scanners and put all my vouchers through - had brought all of them but 3 which were sent through from Pedigree Chum with a puppy book and stuff - put one of those through but they check if over £1 (it was £1.50), but she checked and said it was OK, so I was really pleased, especially as I am now totally skint till payday Friday - every little helps.
Have meeting with Business Link tomorrow to help push my business forward - recommend them to anyone thinking of or doing their own business, they are really helpful - he's coming round to see me at 9am, so better get the house in shape before he comes...bit of a tip at the moment!
Just catching up on some filing then down to watch NCIS (Oooh, Gibbs is lovely..., specially when he smiles :happyhear - sad I'm into older men now, a few years ago it would have been DiNozzo :rotfl: )

Evening all
Just to update I have spent £21.68 so far for July. It really should be less than £5, but because I knew it'd be a cheap month, I spent on rubbish to eat on the train, rather than using my flask and a packed lunch. (I've spent about 2 weeks at BFs house and I'm now living at mum and dads for the next month or so) I just want to move into my new house and crack on. Even though my new kitchen is tiny and will be a real challenge! I'm doing really well with the HM bread as mum has a BM, so I think I will look out for one on freecycle. 48p in lidl for the bread flour, so I bought 4 to stock up. I worked out how to use the timer and my cousin commented on the lovely smell the other morning when she dropped her LO off. So I made another loaf for her. Also made 2 gingerbreads, but not happy with mums oven. Its rubbish!!! Burnt one and half cooked the other. Grrr....
BigBird - love your siggie about a positive attitude
I need to make a start on my menu planner for August.0 -

What channel are you watching it on Denise? DD is a huge fan, as are Mum and Dad (The only reason they watch it is because Ducky went to Edinburgh Medical School!) We've been watching it on FX, but getting confused as they are showing 2 different series. I also watch on Channel 5. I'm also a Gibbs fan. DiNozzo just winds me up0 -
Just thought I would let you know how nice those customer service people at Waitrose are. Last week when I placed my order and used the offer code advertised here I had a problem as I had to update my card details and the offer code disappeared. I phoned the (freephone)cs number and a nice lady put the order through for me with the code. Then tonight I put in my second order for next week (start of August challenge) but the message came back on the screen that I had already used this code more times than was allowed. I phoned cs again and the nice lady gave me a different code which worked! And this was at 9.50 pm! I was so relieved that my trolley full of the bulk stuff for next month didn't get emptied and I was still able to get the discount. I know Waitrose can be a bit expensive, but I have bought mainly their own brand stuff and using the code it has brought this trolley load down to less than what I would have paid at Sainsbury's and the service is definitely better! Wish I could afford to shop there every week!
Well, off to bed now. Night night everyone.

Just had Mr T delivery, and it came to £31.39. Yes, this does mean I have blown my budget
BUT
I am still re-stocking my baking stuff (cocoa powder, greaseproof paper etc). And I bulk bought chicken at Mr S.
I have *got* to sort out my meal planning. The only reason I have not gone over by more is because I put off going shopping (and just lived on crisps and chocolate for a week). I have been buying lunch pretty much every day as well. I feel such a failure.
Anyway, I have done the organising food groups that (I think) redruby started a thread about. I am going to buy some collapsable crates for my food cupboard (in a corner, so can't get at anything and have NO idea whats in there), that way I can just pull the front crate out and get to the back easily. Will group them by tins, baking, cereal etc etc. Need to put a shelf up for my dry goods - pasta rice et al - they are all in nice glass storage jars...in the cupboard
On the plus side, I got another 5p off petrol voucher, despite only spending £30We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
