Morning! Must say I'm rather pleased to find fellow NCISers & post all the pix you like!! Anyone following CSI & CSI:NY? The offspring like the Miami one but I prefer New York as the right-hand-man to Grissom of course:D Horatio annoys the beejeezas outta me with those darned sunglasses:mad:
Back On Topic now....Have you looked thru Weezl's various threads Nykmedia? The first one is OS versus USDA, the other is 50p till Cristmas [or summat very similar:o ] Both
have incredibly detailed nutritional tips & loads of recipes...& if the info you are looking for--like replacing oily fish--isn't already there, she'll find it!
Actually, I advise you ALL visit the second Weezl challenge--go to page 73 & post 1460
....I'll tell you why tomorrow if you don't find out for yourself;)
I'm soooooo relieved by your post QueenofString; I thought it was only me who had those sorts of days with the oven:p Like last night's steak pie dinner--looked really good but the suet crust tasted yeuk.....offspring ate a good bit of it [it had swollen up rather]
but then they add salt to their meals... if that's where I went wrong? I don't put salt in my actual baking cuz of the amount they add to their plates BEFORE tasting itPup really enjoyed his onion-less version too & was looking at the other half for seconds:D
Anyhoo, another NSD to add on, but I'll need milk today....Have a good one!

I'm going to check out of July with as total of £110.50. We are off to Scotland tomorrow for a long weekend and I had planned that July's budget would end today. Really pleased this month that I have been using up food from freezer, also getting reduced bread quite a bit for our packed lunches. I put it straight into the freezer and make them up frozen in the mornings. That way the bread stays fresh. I've also bought some value products this month, inspired by the Tesco Value thread. DH can be a bit of a label freak but he loved the value processed peas we had last night with fish!
Will have a think over the next few days about an amount for August

I've never seen this programme, but he looks familiar. Wasn't he on another soap years ago when he was young and handsome? Was it with Heather Locklear?
That's Mark Harmon - he was in St. Elsewhere. My colleague at work looks just like him though he's never heard of Mark Harmon and doesn't realise what a big compliment I'm paying him.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Diane - if you post in the quick reply bit at the bottom - look just above and you will see a B I U and an "A" with a thick line underneath.
If you highlight text and click B - this will make the text bold, I will make it italics and U will underline. The A button with a line will allow you to change the colour of the text.
To make the text larger - click on "go advanced" button at the bottom - this will take you to a new window. If you look above you will see the toolbar has expanded.
Highlight the text and click on Sizes - you can change the size of your text.
Hope that makes sense!0 -

Well its ok again here today, windy though.
It needs to be an NSD today, as determined not to go any more than the already £12 over. Still not sure what to set the budget at for Aug, as DH is at home for some of it due to being on hol (so might eat more ?) but then we are away too (the food will come from the holiday budget then)......
Well done all who are coming in on budget, I think the opening of Tesco on this island was my downfall! My month officially lasts another 7 days so I will declare properly then, and also set the new Augs budget.

Just had my last big shop delivered and it came in at £39.44 after the discount. Mind you, they didn't have the leg of lamb I wanted even though I ticked to allow a substitute, and I have returned two items, making the bill £3.99 less once they refund me. This means that I have £39-59 to last to 31st and although I will need to buy a few things when I take MIL to Sainsbury's tomorrow, I should be under budget this month. Not sure how I did it though - keep thinking that I might have made a mistake and forgotton something.
Herbaholic: I too have economy7 (a white meter) with cheaper night time leccie, so I always try to do washing at night and put the bm on then and the dishwasher too. But sometimes if you know the weather is going to be good you just have to take advantage and do it in the day time. I have even been known to get up and do the ironing in the middle of the night when I can't sleep because it's cheaper then!
Can I just say that one of the reasons I think that the thread is so long and it's so difficult to keep up is that some people are not staying on post and seem to combine the gc stuff with other non gc stuff. I know I am sometimes among them and I know that when you have problems to solve it is great to unload here and get everyone's support, but I don't think this is really the place to discuss favourite tv programmes and film stars etc! Sorry if that sounds boring and/or critical - but there are other threads where you can chat to your hearts content. It seems to me that some people have been put off from contributing to this thread since it became more chatty as there are several I have not seen posting for some time. Sorry if I have offended any one - I don't mean to be mean.
Good luck everyone for the end of the month - not far too go now - and hugs for all those of you who are struggling.
