just got back from Mr A's, and he wouldn't take my flippin vouchers  i had £8 worth, so i thought i'd stock up on loo roll, as they weren't technically costing me anything. so i filled me trolley, all went thru the till, only to be told by the cashier she wouldn't take my vouchers.....she only looked about 12 and i had to stop myself from asking why she wasn't at school!! so i've spent nearly 20 quid on loo rolls  mind you, we shouldn't run out for a while now!!

not sure what to do for tea tonight as DS15 and DD18 are at friends houses, and i don't like putting the oven on just for one! i'll probably just have an omelette to use up some of the eggs that have been lurking in the fridge for a while ;)
hope everyone's being good....we're nearly at the end of the month :D
Did she say why not, or were they vouchers for stuff other than what you were buying ?
I would have put the loo roll back tbh and waited until it was on offer!

Have just popped into update my sig - I had to buy more bananas and some mushrooms for tonight's tea which is scampi provencale (although I will be using jumbo prawns which were on offer at Sainsbury's a while back!) Still on target I think - I have £79 to last to Thursday week and the Waitrose order I am expecting tomorrow (using the MOC from here) will come to about £50 so in theory I should be ok with only the proverbial F&V to get- but it seems a bit too good to be true! I keep thinking I have missed something important!

Hope you all have a good evening.

Nsd for me today, have done a two week meal plan ready for the Aug challenge,
can't wait to get started again.i have learned so much from this thread and not just on the shopping front i never thought of baking my own cakes, biscuits etc and am really enjoying cooking from scratch.using up whats in the cupboards and freezer rather than just keep adding to it has been both fun and interesting.so thank you everyone for all the info and ideas.

NSD for me although we went to soft play after Summer Club for a pop and a read of my book, that's out of diferent budget.

OH back tomorrow at 1.30 amd friends arrive at 10pm - having pork and apple meatballs with tomato sweet and sour sauce with spaghetti with buttered baguettes and Toms Bomb a al Tana Ramsay..... a lovely frozen chocolate,H M meringue,Maltesers and cream dessert.

Will take Oh to a world class fish and chip shop when I collect him from the airport as we will not be eating till 10pm later.

He is bringing a suitcase of jaffa cakes, yeast, cheese, pepperami, semolina and the like so cupboards will be replenished also my friends have a box of stuff inc oats, cheese, icing sugar, squash, mango chutney, batter mix and cereal.

Have a small shopping list for Friday mainly milk,2 whole chickens, potatoes.
    and garlic.

Will be busy entertaining for the next few days but will post when I can.

Having spent all my grocery allowance for this month, I'm living out the store cupboard, which, as usual, is pretty packed. However, my most recent mini-challenge within my own frugal budget includes a wholesome and healthy diet, including the minimum 5-a-day. This is day 3, as my ultra-healthy eating challenge started on Monday. I eat most things and most combinations of foodstuffs, however the other 2 in the household are really fussy eaters. I means FUSSY with capitals. I cook low fat, other than baking, and I don't deep fry. I'm getting all the fruit & veg in, I can cram white fish in fishcakes or pie but can't think of a way to hide tuna or what to substitute for oily fish, which is a point blank no-go area in our house. Can anyone help with directions to recipes, hints, tips or suggestions, please? I love tuna but nobody else will touch it but I buy tins, so it doesn't count as an oily fish. :o
It also needs to be affordable on a £10/week budget, otherwise I'll fail my own challenge.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

she said it was because they were whiskas vouchers, that stated 20%, 50% etc off a product, so even tho it said on the back of the voucher that it was worth £1.20 or whatever, she wouldn't flippin scan them
