DS1 failed his theory test again!!! At least he's paying for it. I've told him I will take him 1 more time and then he can sort it out as I have to work. Still incredibly angry with him and sort of cleared the air on Tuesday. OH and I took him to college today and then zoomed down to Preston to see my mum. She's still in hospital with her hoof. We only managed 15 mins but it was long enough. Took my stepdad out for lunch, zoomed back and collected DS1, managed to pick up a new handle for the loo and some shower fittings that were needed.

I'm off tomorrow as well, I think the accountant will be coming and I haven't done Septembers bank rec, so I need to crack on with that, housework and get straight for the weekend. Going with a work friend to a Christmas fair on Saturday as long as the weather is ok.

Played some excellent badminton on Tuesday, DD1 tagged along and played really well. In fact one chap commented that I was being 'the Lance Armstrong' of the badminton world. I did advise him he would be hearing from my solicitors....

Loving my car, made the journey so much nicer today. We had planned to do some Christmas shopping, but feel happier after seeing mum.

There is an auction of promises at the local school tomorrow night, we might attend.

Wow that sounds like a full on day! How much longer will your Mum be in hospital? Is she realistically going to be able to manage at home afterwards?
Sorry to hear your son failed his theory again.

Sorry about the theory test Lu, third time lucky I guess, Im sure he'll do it next time, could be just the nerves getting to him. Glad youre taking it easy :rotfl: just joking, it sounds as crazy with you as it is here. Hope your mum improves and enjoy the Christmas fair, sounds just what you need. ( I originally typed Easter fair, think Im losing the plot):rotfl:

V, I don't think mum will be going home. My stepdad can't/wont look after her anymore, he is coming up 78 and it doesn't help that they both hate each other. She doesn't want to go into a care home and he doesn't want to sell his house or get the equity out of it to pay for any care. He wants the house as inheritance for his kids who haven't done a days work in their lives.

Turfy, DS1 is a lazy little sod and not revised enough, so don't feel sorry for him.

It was sleeting this morning, so I dragged myself into the village (very brave of me) did the banking and hit gold in the co-op, they had loads of chicken boobs down to £1.49 for 2, meatballs and mince all reduced I was a happy bunny. In fact I had to smile the other day as DS2 came home with 2 reduced packs of doughnuts he'd managed to get on his way to catching the bus.

Must not stay on here and must get my accounts done.........

Ah, I see trouble ahead! Can your Mum stay in hospital or will she have to go on to a care home? Is their home your step Dad's then or joint with your Mum?
Sorry L too many questions. Feel free to ignore!

Well done on the reduced stuff. I really need to empty and defrost my second freezer but have loads of runner beans from the garden in there and none of us feel like eating them yet as we had so many of the blighters over the summer. But it's so hard to resist the bargains. Can't be done!

Mum willstay where she is for now as she can't walk. However as soon as they can ship her out they will. Social services are involved and sorting out a care package. It's going to be a bit of a mess whatever happens.

I do love my billy bob bargains.

I went to the Christmas fair thingy. It was ok didn't pick up many pressies.

Not done anything this afternoon, watched Star Wars and fell asleep for some of it.
