Chaps have been on half term this week, so took 2 days off and Oh took Wdnesday off. Thursday was haircuts for the girls and dentists for everybody. Have booked a hair appointment for me in December just before my (big) birthday, which I'm cool about........honestly I am, nothing to worry about tis only a number. Even the dentist pointed it out......Thanks.

I've been following the Harcombe diet and enjoying it, but have fallen off the wagon a little bit, so need to get back on track, I'm 2lb off a stone so need to concentrate.

I decided to sign up with Volvo for a servicing contract, this covers me for 3 services and full valeting. As the car came with a full service history it makes sense to keep it up.

The accountant came for a visit this week, we need to do a stock take to establish how well the business is running. Things are a bit squeaky bum give at the moment so this will give us a true reflection of how things are.

Today has been spent doing the stock take and its not finished. It was freezing and we did lose the will to live. Hopefully each time we do it it should get easier.

OH has already fallen asleep on the settee, I can just about feel my toes, which is good as DD2 is painting them at the mo. I think she's going to put crackle glaze on them. I'm going for a deep purple with maybe a white crackle on top.

Managed to get some more reduced chicken boobs this week, my freezer is bursting at the seams!!

Off to see Michael Macintyre next week, should be good. Hope the weather forecast predicted on the OS board for next week isn't too bad.

It's nearly time for the annual update in December. I'll have to do some juggling as the 0% card ends in January, so will look for a new deal.

I have managed to get 2 jobs off my list that have been hanging round for a while. The first was to clean the fryer and roasting tin, done. The second to hang the door curtain, also done and I don't really know why it took me so long!

A hard frost last night has lead to a glorious day. Went for a short walk this morning to see if there were any blackberries, looks like there wont ve any this year. I might see how much frozen ones are to make blackberry vodka for Christmas, plan to spend most of the festive period in a drunken stupor!

I've got 2 loads of washing on line, don't think it will dry properly but shouldn't take too much inside to finish it off.

Still not started the bathroom. OH has spoken to the supplier about the wet wall and he was supposed to come round and have a look last week but he hasn't. Getting a bit fed up as I wanted it finished for the end of October. DS2 has picked some colours for his room, need to get the bathroom done and then we can start on his room.

I got a late phonecall from my stepdad last night, the hospital had phoned as my mum was refusing to get ready for bed and threatening to go home. I phoned the hospital and they had got her into bed. This is a ticking bomb and its going to go off very soon. I'll give her a ring later on today.

Got 2 reduced chooks in the slow cooker for tea and lots of leftovers for next week. Scuppered my plans for a healthy day today as DD1 made brownie and my willpower had burgered off.

Funny how some of those tasks we put off actually turn out to be painlessly easy. I think I've got one or two hanging around!

No washing on lines here today. Non stop heavy rain, the garden is under water in several areas and there is a swimming pool on the flat roof.

I was thinking about following the Harcombe diet, I've heard good things about it. I'll see if the book is in the library tomorrow.

Hi, is this the same as the 2 day a week fasting diet? I was reading about it and the lack of having to follow a regime 7 days a week appealed to me..plus it said it would make you live longer!!!!

Stacks of rain here too. fireworks displays cancelled and our patio still not grouted and sealed...boo.

Lucielle- hope your mum is OK and the care package is adequate-good
