Paying tax whilst detached
Hello everyone, I, like alot of service personnel, have spent alot of time in this financial year out of the UK, namely in Afghanistan. Am I able to reclaim my tax for the time that I'm away or are we exempt for some reason? Also, is there any way of reclaiming the tax and/or NI on my commitment bonus? Regards

Received 7.5 year bonus today and was dismayed to see the £5,000 total reduced to just over £2,600 after deductions of £1,694 for PAYE, £230 for NI and £381 for student loan.
