Can you claim both whilst on Ops? I think I already know the answer. The reason I ask is the DW will be in our MQ which I will still be paying for unlike if I was in SLA, so she will still require to do the journey to our house from the MQ. If they dont want to pay the GYH(T) they should stop the charge for the MQ!

GYH(T) and LSA are mutual exclusive.
Why do you think you should get both?0 -
I will be getting LSA whilst in Afghanistan. I will still be charged for my MQ and the wife will travel to our private residence to ensure its upkeep. If they don't want to pay the GYH(T) they shouldn't charge for ther MQ whilst I'm deployed!0

Your Operational Allowance will be far more than GYH(T).From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0

Erm, no.
LSA is a separation allowance. GYH(T) is an allowance to get YOU home which, is roughly the equivalent of two journeys per month. As you will not be doing those journeys, you are not entitled to it. However, you can transfer a GYH(S) warrant to your wife............Ah, you don't get those!
And why should you not pay MQ charges whilst in Afghan? If you are occupying it, then you should pay it! However, I know a great wee secret way of avoiding MQ charges........vacate it!!!!0 -

Er yeah, you're in. Not your wife?!0 -
JSP 752 - Allowances is the publication that you need to read.0

Well yes you will still pay for your MQ as clearly your wife will still be residing in it.
Your wife is entitled to a concessionary family travel warrant or mileage claim to visit family(yours or hers), nok or ec if your tour is over 4 mths. You used to be able to claim for 2 visits per 6 mth tour but i'm not sure if this is still the case as i don't use it myself.0 -
