Is anyone in SSFA and having problems getting their council tax paid? We moved into SSFA in Feb this year and have sent all council tax bills promptly to HASS but have just received a court summons this morning for unpaid council tax from Feb to 31st March - I'm livid as I expect this will affect our credit rating and we are wanting to buy our first house next year.

your credit rating wont be affected its not a CCJ its a liability order and is not registered with any credit reference agency
be very careful if it gets to the bailiff stage
DO NOT ALLOW THEM INTO YOUR HOME to levy goods you do NOT legally have to allow a bailiff into home they can only enter by peaceful means this being through an open window unlocked door or by invitation
If you have a car not on HP or finance do not park it near your home
bailiffs enforcing council tax can come to your home anytime between 6am and 9pm
do not believe a word the bailiffs says they are by nature accomplished liars
without a levy on goods the maximum by law they can charge you is £24.50 1st visit fee £18 2nd visit feeI am not an expert I am self taught i have no legal training any information I post is based on my own personal experience and information gained from other web sites
If you are in any doubt please seek legal/expert advice help0
