A genuine MMD!
I’d really appreciate some advice...I've taken out as much personal information as possible but I hope it still makes sense. Help with CIC/ directorship query
Around a year ago, a friend and I set up a CIC, running retail premises on a cost space share basis to enable local makers and artists to sell on the high street, at a less prohibitive cost, rates etc being what they are. In August, my friend was struggling with stress and asked me to accept her resignation from the…

Community Interest Company (CIC)
Just wondering if anyone here has started their own CIC - would love to chat if so. We have looked at going down the charity route previously but not sure it's quite the right fit for us and wondered whether the CIC route would be more appropriate. My concern is that financial doners may be less inclined to donate due to…

What receipt do you need for HMRC?
We’ve just incorporated our company and we took a client out for lunch. When we got the itemised bill, we paid via cash and left with the itemised bill. Is this bill sufficient for HMRC purposes as expense? Only asking because we would normally pay via card and you get both the itemised bill and a card receipt. Many thanks.

PTA Tombola question.
I have been involved with PTAs for a number of years, and have always been under the impression that there were regulations about 'equal stake for equal chance of winning' for tombolas at school fetes. Ie you cant sell one ticket for 25p but do a deal for 5 for £1, as the stakes would not be equal. (I have seen many stalls…

Customer complaint - need advice
We produce beverages and donated a bottle to a charity for auction. We've had the winning bidder contact us directly to say she found the product had no taste and was disappointed so threw it in the bin. She wants us to send a replacement bottle of something else. This is a new one on us, and I was just wondering what the…

Cost effective printing For small businesses run from home, has anyone any advice as to cost analysis for different types of printing?
