Shoe resoling
Just went to get a pair of leather shoes resoled and reheeled and was quoted £53. Am shocked, last time I got this done I think it was only about £20. This is in London so perhaps it's cheaper elsewhere. Anyway is this now the going rate or is there a way to get it done more cheaply? Thanks

Buying a digital piano pay in full now or use 0% credit
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this so please let me know if it needs to be elsewhere. I am about to buy a digital piano and am wondering how best to pay. It will cost about £2000 in total and we have the money in the bank allocated (budgeted) for and ready. I am wondering what is the best way to pay: 1.…

Anybody bought from Licorea?
Has anybody bought from this site before, it offers discount alcohol from mainland Europe. I'm not sure how it works though, legally. I saw it referenced on another forum. http://www.licorea.com/ It looks legit enough, based in Spain. Needless to say, buying in bulk shouldn't mean bulk consumption of booze! A litre bottle…

GOOD black socks
Hello everybody I don't like having to pair socks, so I try to buy them all the same. I buy them in Primark, the cheapest bunch there is, but they are awful and they break too easily. I know there are better options because I remember a batch a few years ago that lasted AGES. I think it was in H&M. These are my…

A bribe to remove a negative Amazon review
I recently purchased a piece of IT equipment from a seller on Amazon. I was unhappy with it and consequently left a two star review for the item on Amazon a few days later. My complaint was not due to a malfunction but because the item was described as "silent" but its normal operation is clearly anything but silent. I did…

Service Change - is it compulsory - in UK
I have noticed that some restaurant are now adding a service charge to their bill can I refuse to pay this? As I would expect the running cost of the business to have already be added in the meal. I have email a few restaurants but got no reply. I am not being cheap or tight - but i think this is unreasonable, it like an…

Sainsburys Brand Match ending
Surely this means that the value transparency is disappearing. Maybe they don't want to lose margin by matching Asda prices.

amazon prime - no rush delivery
I am no longer being offered the £1 music/video credit for no rush delivery :( shame as I found these credits useful. Instead I now get 2.99 amazon pantry credit. Whilst on the face of it, it is more money, I am not sure if I have any use for this? I can't find the terms for it, does anyone know if I can just spend the…

Company says payment received but it's still in my bank!
I placed an order for a relative with a meat company on the 29th for £55. This showed as pending in my internet banking immediately but the next day it disappeared from the pending payments and my account was showing it as credit. I waited a few days and the payment still wasn't taken. Today I received confirmation that my…

Best wet shaver - price per shave
What wet shaver do you find works longest and best for you? Do you use a supermarket own label, or big brand one e.g. Gillette or Wilkinson Sword? I have bought, Lidl's, I have bought Tesco's, currently use Sainsbury's - good design to channel the debris. It's hard to judge value for money sometimes, because I don't shave…

Amazon subscribe and save - losing reliability?
I use amazon's subscribe and save programme a lot - especially for pet items. I get some items monthly and most bi-monthly. I'm noticing more and more that there are problems with fulfilling parts of the orders. Most recently, my S&S of 5 items due by Saturday is now only going to deliver 1 item as i've had emails for the…
