Nectar Toolbar

I have downloaded the Nectar search toolbar for my computer and am using it to earn Nectar points.
This is great, but there is one problem. At the moment it sits to the right of the address bar, so I can't use a keyboard shortcut to run an internet search. Does anybody know how I can set the Nectar toolbar to be my default search engine in Chrome?

I don't use chrome, but if I did the first thing I would have tried was using the keyboard shortcut to highlight the address bar then hitting TAB to see if the cursor moved to the next box.
Failling that a search found the following to be done after installing another searchbar. I've changed the name of the other searchbar to Nectar to avoid confusion. And the chrome address bar is referred to as the Omnibar. Now go to Tools
Select the Settings Tab and click ‘Manage Search Engines’ under the ‘Search’ heading
In the resulting pop-up, click the ‘make default’ button next to the Nectar tab under the ‘Other search engines’ heading.
Your Google ‘Omnibar’ will now default to the
Nectar search engine when conducting a search0 -

When I try your other idea the Nectar toolbar doesn't appear as one of the search engines, so I can't set it to become the default. Has anyone got any other ideas?0 -
Thanks. It seems your keyboard shortcut trick does work in a sense: if I press Shift+ALT+T, tab, tab, tab, tab, enter, I am at the Nectar toolbar. Obviously this isn't an ideal solution.

Ok, so you need to press tab 4 times, where do you go when you press the tab key (what gets highlighted)? Find out where you are after you press tab for the 4th time, then find out what the keyboard shortcut is to go straight to that point. Use that shortcut and it will be only one key press to get to the nectar box.
Just out of interest, because I haven't seen a nectar search box, what is the url you go to when you use it?
Is it just a yahoo search page?0 -

Great, I've finally found a solution. If I use the search 'Test Search' for the Nectar toolbar I go to the url uk.search.yahoo.com/search?fr=nectar-tb-v3&type=61465&p=test+search
(sorry, as a new user I am not allowed to post urls so had to remove the http..... at the front)
So....I then went to Chrome -> Settings -> Manage Search Engines and added my URL with %s in place of the query 'test+search'.
Now all I have to do in Chrome is hit Ctrl+T and I can search using the Nectar toolbar from the omnibox. 200 easy Nectar points/month for me, which will be deposited into Hive straight away
Thanks for all your help Geordie Joe0 -
Check that you are actually getting the points as there doesn't seem to be anything in that url to identify you (unless it's the type=61465). So how will they know who to give the points to?0

I have checked and am getting the points, so I assume that the 5 digit code is the identifier. Thanks again for your help.0
