Buying out the ground rent (freehold?)
If I buy out the ground rent on my home, which I think I can do through Land Registry by paying the owner of the ground rent 8 years worth of ground rent, would this then mean that my home is now freehold? Or does it simply mean that I no longer have to pay ground rent, but it's still not freehold? If this is the case,…

White foil (grained) uPVC window frames & dirt
Has anyone here had *white* uPVC foil (i.e. woodgrain effect) uPVC window frames installed? Does the grain catch dirt? Are these frames more likely to become more visibly dirty compared to plain white uPVC window frames? Thanks!

Wedding venue help. Barns. marquee. prices?
I know there are a few posts like this, but all seem to be asking for the Fermanagh or way down Co - Down direction. I am from outside Cookstown but thinking anything up to an hour’ s travel after the church ceremony should be okay? We would love a really rustic barn but so far the prices are eye watering. On their website…

Multi Fuel Stove
Looking for a bit of advice..... We are thinking of putting in a vintage stove in our sun room. It was taken out of the old house and seems like a shame to dump it. It will only be used for the heat not really cooking. Just been speaking to a guy who fits them and puts in the flue etc but he said that it is not possible to…

Anyone else have their house on the market?
Hi Thank you for taking the time to read this. Cutting a floor rug?
When I had my stair carpet fitted, the fitter offered to have some offcuts made into mats with properly finished edges but I can't remember the details of who fitted the carpet (it was 10+ years ago). I now have a rug that is slightly too big and I need several inches whacked off it and the cut end 'finished' ( I assume).…
