Tesco leaving Connswater.

Anyone else hoping an Asda might take over the Tesco space at Connswater.
Sister would really like a Primark.

there will be rumors and counter rumors about who will move in .believe nothing until the official announcement .;)

I know when tesco moved out of Rushmere in Craigavon ,there where all sorts of ruumors it was going to be Asda ,Primark ect .Turns out it was divided into two smaller discount stores .

I remember a few years back there was talk that ASDA had bought some ground near Connswater and would be building. Then the recession hit and nothing happened.

You could get a Iceland or nothing at all.
  • No chance of a John Lewis then? :rotfl:
  • Too many Tesco's in that general area anyway so it was always going to happen......
There's a Tesco in one guise or another in:
Connswater, Castlereagh Road, Cregagh Road, Ormeau Road, Newtownbreda, Rosetta, Saintfield Road, Uppernewtownards Road,....

They're bl00dy everywhere..... No Need....!! Give local independents a chance, you'd be amazed how much cheaper they are on a lot of stuff !!! I noticed a load of the "necessities" at Christmas were cheaper in my local Spar than in Tesco's....

True & its good to support local business

But you don't get up to 20p a litre off Your fuel with SPAR (if your a car owner)!

I'm pretty sure in my case £12 off a fill having spent £300 to get the 20p off coupon, Tesco have got the money back.

Indeed, but that's when you do the "Big" shop...... all these little Tesco Express & Metro stores popping up everywhere, not the place you'd do your big family shop....

Cregagh Road store is closing too.

I don't think that one will be missed.

I know...... and they have only just recently opened the express stores on the Ormeau Road and Rosetta in the last year. Both these new stores are beside numerous small local shops and existing Coop's.... not required in my view.... They got too greedy if you ask me and now it's coming home to roost....
