Tax Thresholds - Flexible?
Hi everyone, hope someone can help me on a Tax Allowance and Threshold query. I ask this as a lot of information I seek on this matter states that I get taxed at 20% on the first £37700 over my PTA. However, If my personal allowance increases does it mean that my higher tax bracket increases??? Or is it the case that I get…

Have I left it too late?
When Virgin pulled their 5.25% on the day I opened my current account I started looking elsewhere and stalled until today! I was about to dump £20K in a Paragon 1 year fixed @ 4.9% but have seen in their ts & cs it can take 15 business days for funds to go in. So my question is, can I open and fund an ISA same day with…

Oak North Bank ISA account set up problems
Hi all. I wanted to set up an ISA with Oak North and transfer ISA. I downloaded app and got to a stage where it said that I had to go to website to set up ISA. I went to the website, but there is no way to register for one. There is simply a 'register for online banking' where you need an account number of which would be…

JISA transfer to Kid's savings account
Hi I'm unsure what best to do; our son is 12 and has a jisa with halifax paying 3.2% currently with 4k in it. I've read there perhaps isnt much advantage in an isa over a kids savings account which may pay more interest. I understand the money is locked away until he is 18 but not sure thats offering much of a benefit if a…

MONEYBOX Question
Hi. I put my 2023/4 allowance in to a MONEYBOX easy access ISA in October. I now wish to close this account but although the balance now shows as £20,500 it says I can only withdraw the initial £20,000. Does that mean I can't get the intertest until October and will have to leave the account open?

Santander ISA -> Nutmeg - 120 Days' Interest Charge
Hi, I have a Santander Cash ISA for which interest has now been paid at around 5% for the past year. The rate is now 1.2% so I'd like to transfer them to another provider. It's difficult to find the information on Santander's website but it looks like they want to take 120 days' interest as a charge for doing so. Does this…

Failed Santander ISA transfer
I had an email from my new provider to say the cash ISA transfer had failed due to "lack of funds." I phoned Santander but they parroted the same line. How can a complete transfer fail due to lack of funds? This matter is now with their back office team. I'm disappointed Santander didn't use some initiative and contact me…

2 x ISA's
My daughter was asking about ISAs recently and I thought I advised her correctly. She opened one with Virgin and made a deposit for 2023/24 tax year but it was fixed and the Virgin terms only allowed her to add more funds within 30 days which she didnt. Due to this she did open another with the Post Office and made a…

17 year old and his isa
Our 17 year old has a (adult) cash isa. The rule change this tax year means he won't be able to open a new one, but can he still fund the one that's open? We've been looking for ages bit can't find a definitive answer. A link would be good if possible Thanks in advance

Stocks & Share ISA your shares are subject of Take Over and thus Forcibly Sold
With Stock & Share ISA I take it that dividends are paid
into that ISA, However If the shares you hold in your ISA say £20k worth are
subject to a forced sell (such as a company or more likely Utility has been
taken over). Would the money received for the shares be paid into the ISA
and would be treated as tax free? As it…

Is it possible to transfer a non Flexible ISA to a Flexible ISA?

Upgrading Santander Fixed Rate Cash ISA
Received a letter that I could upgrade my cash ISA 28 days before maturity on the 1st Apr. If I do this will the interest of the previous year still be paid on maturity since I will have upgraded to a new product by then. Ironically, the new Fixed Rate Cash ISA has the same interest 4.15% as the previous years Fixed Rate…

Investment and Cost - Time to switch?
I currently have a LISA with AJBell that has £23k invested in VLS 80 and am currently paying around £4.70 per month in charges. I am going to add another £4k + £1k (off the govenment) next week, taking it to around £28k, which would take my monthly fees to around £5.80. I am considering switching to an ETF, such as the…

CASH ISAs
Hi I have invested the max £20,000 cash isa allowance for 2023/24. I have other ISAs from previous years that are maturing end of this month. I am right in thinking that I cannot reinvest this as a cash isa until the new year commences from 6th April so therefore I lose the ISA entitlement for this money? Thanks

Potential 'lost' funds
We have recently found two old Halifax passbooks, which showed balances, relating to ISA's, not written up since 2013. The Halifax advise that they were both closed in 2013 by transfer to what we glean to be, by sort code and bank account number, the Cheshire Building Society. Any advice on where I go from here to try to…

Partial ISA transfers and flexibility
Hope someone can help with this. I have a flexible Cash ISA with YBS containing only old money, no current year deposits. A few months ago I opened a new Cash ISA with another provider (starting with zero balance) and requested a partial transfer out from YBS of £500 which apparently completed successfully. As I understand…
