What happens if I go over my allownace?
Early on last (tax) year I put £1300 into an existing ISA, later on I then opened a new ISA & put the remaining £2300 in. In a subsequent conversation with someone from the new ISA company they said I still had the remaining £1300 to go, so thinking maybe I'd made the mistake I put it in. But then checking my records I…

Impossible to transfer existing A&L ISA to Natwest e-ISA due to account numbers
 This is so frustrating. My Alliance and Leicester ISA for 2008/09 accepts transfers out. My new Natwest e-ISA accepts transfers in. You'd think it would be easy to effect a transfer. You'd be wrong! Natwests online transfer form ONLY accepts sort codes and 8-figure account numbers. There is no field for a 'reference…

ISA limit increase over 50's
My Dad is about to consolidate some instant access ISA's and this years' £3600 subscription to a fixed rate cash ISA. As you cannot subscribe to another ISA in the same tax year and fixed rate ISA's do not permit additional subscriptions, will the £1500 additional allowance that comes into force in October (for over 50's)…

UT transfer into ISA wrapper
Ten years ago I put a large chunk of cash into UTs on the advice of a well known IFA. Of course this well known IFA never advised me to annually transfer UTs into similar UTs within the ISA wrapper. I realised myself a few years later that this would be a good idea and I've been doing it annually since then. Just a…

Natwest e-ISA question
Just phoned up Natwest and they said to open an e-ISA account I would need another account linked to it with Natwest. He went on to say that it has to have a card otherwise you can't transfer funds in and out of it, he said only a current account, first reserve and reward reserve. Is this true? Thought I could just open an…

Saffron BS - Regular Saver Cash ISA for 2009/2010?
I'm in the process of applying for the above account. Does anyone know what happens about the opening investment? I have already used my 2008/2009 allowance and don't want any issues. Do I send a cheque and backdate it to 6/4/09 or not send anything at all at this stage? It's really not clear. If no one knows, I'll give…

Natwest bonus rates on ISAs
I switched to a Natwest ISA in Oct 2008 to access their bonus rate of 2%. My understanding of the deal they were offering at the time was that the quoted rate of 6.7% was fixed for one year, rather than the bonus of 2% only being fixed. Anybody else similarly switch on this apparently mistaken basis?

Has NatWest messed up my e-ISA?
Hello, I’m a newbie. I think NatWest might have messed up my e-ISA application and I’m hoping someone here can give me some advice! I opened a NatWest cash e-ISA for the tax year just ended this 5 April, with ‘new funds’, for £3,600. As I’m a new customer to NatWest I had to open an e-saver account with £1 as well (for…
