Changing ISAs before contributing
I'm sure I've read about this before on here, but my searches were fruitless, so aplogies for asking this again... If someone has applied for an ISA, but not yet contributed to it, can they change their mind and apply for another ISA, in the same tax year? I seem to recall that this is ok as long as no contributions have…

Anyone got a M&S Cash ISA
What rate are they paying now. I'm thinking of moving my 10k or so built up over a number of years to another Cash ISA but last time I looked at it, doing it through Fidelity's portal, it didn't appear possible. Anyone transferred out of the M&S Cash ISA, and if so how?????

paying the increased ISA allowance into a Halifax fixed rate ISA
I suggested that my parents paid their ISA allowance into their low-earning Halifax ISA then transfer it to a fixed rate. I then sat with them whilst they did this. I felt pretty good that they'll be making more interest than they would have done otherwise... but... I was told at the time that they needed to pay in the…

I have held one Cash ISA account for several years. I would like to open a different Cash ISA account with Barclays in which to invest this year's ISA allowance. Already have a cash ISA, can I have an ISA bond also?
I already have a cash ISA with nationwide. I have not added anything to to this years '09-'10 allowed amount of £3,600. My question, which has had different answers from Nationwide employees in store and online is: If I transfer an amount from my Cash ISA, say £3,600 lump sum to a fixed rate ISA bond at Nationwide am I…

Halifax ISA, wrong information...
My Halifax online ISA appears to have incorrect information when I log in. It says: "You cannot add to this ISA if you have opened another cash ISA or stocks and shares ISA in the current tax year." I haven't added anything to it yet out of my 0910 allowance. I have opened an S&S ISA (into which I'm dripping £50 pcm, not…

Withdrawing from your Lloyds TSB Cash ISA
A warning for investors in the Lloyds TSB Cash ISA who want to withdraw from or close their account: if you haven't another Lloyds TSB account, or aren't intending to transfer the funds into another ISA, beware of restrictive practices in accessing your money. My mother had a LTSB Fixed-rate Cash ISA which, on maturity…

I started my first Easy ISA with Alliance & Leicester at the beginning of the year (issue 1c) when they had an introductory 1.5% bonus until February 2010. I have since contacted them and they have told me that as the current interest rate is 0.5%, I am receiving a 2% interest rate. I was astounded as I was under the…

What happens if I go over my allownace?
Early on last (tax) year I put £1300 into an existing ISA, later on I then opened a new ISA & put the remaining £2300 in. In a subsequent conversation with someone from the new ISA company they said I still had the remaining £1300 to go, so thinking maybe I'd made the mistake I put it in. But then checking my records I…

Impossible to transfer existing A&L ISA to Natwest e-ISA due to account numbers
 This is so frustrating. My Alliance and Leicester ISA for 2008/09 accepts transfers out. My new Natwest e-ISA accepts transfers in. You'd think it would be easy to effect a transfer. You'd be wrong! Natwests online transfer form ONLY accepts sort codes and 8-figure account numbers. There is no field for a 'reference…

ISA limit increase over 50's
My Dad is about to consolidate some instant access ISA's and this years' £3600 subscription to a fixed rate cash ISA. As you cannot subscribe to another ISA in the same tax year and fixed rate ISA's do not permit additional subscriptions, will the £1500 additional allowance that comes into force in October (for over 50's)…
