Alliance & leicester Direct ISA Issue 4?

Can't get through on the telephone and can't find the current interest rate online either. Anyone else know the current rate for issue 4 ISAs with Alliance and leicester?

Would like to know the interest rate so that I can decide whether to move money to a new higher rate account with instant access.

Especially as 1% of that rate is a bonus, which ceases either on 31st May or 2nd September, depending on account opening date.
  • Sorry to upset previous knowledgable posters......but the interest rate is actually(from 2.4.09) 1.10% up to £39,999 and 1.50% above that.

The new Issue 5 isa is 2%

My OH had one of these accounts, was I think 3 or 3.5 when Icesave was transferred

Easy ISA (accounts beginning with 378, 379)

    Monthly GrossGross AERNet£1 to £100,000 N/A 2.00 Tax Free

Rather than have to ask for a better rate, it was transferred today to Lloyds TSB Fixed rate at 3.0%.

A&L do have a 3.5% rewards ISA but no transfers allowed, so cheerio A&L.

    Either way... it's moving.

Anyone know if I can move it to a better paying ISA AND also open the best rate ISA (that doesn't allow transfers) for my spare cash/this year's allowance?

Yes that's fine. You just can't fund more than one 09/10 ISA with new money but you can transfer previous tax years to a new provider and open a new 09/10 ISA with a different provider.
