Saffron BS ISA not open yet

Has anybody heard or had their Saffron BS 7% Regular ISA Saver opened yet?

I sent our application form off the weekend before they set the deadline to open the account for the new Tax Year 2009/10 and as yet not heard anything or seen the cheque come out of the account.

Just wondering if there is a delay due to the high demand before the closing date and they are working through the backlog. Concerned as could be losing out on interest on opening another ISA if this account is not opened and also May is not too far away and want to put the next instalment in account but can't unless get account number

Any help or information would be much appreciated

I applied around the same time as you, maybe a couple of days earlier - my post-dated cheque cleared on 9th April and I received the paperwork & passbook (showing the date of initial deposit as 7th April) on 11th April.

I rang them today as my cheque has not been cashed for 09/10, they confirmed they are working on the backlog and expect all accounts to be opened by the end of this week. They had my details available to confirm they had received the application, they said that interest would be paid from last week.

Got my letter over the weekend confirming the opening, checked my on-line banking and the DD had been set up so all should be ok.

The £300 cheque came out of my account today for the ISA so I am guessing I will hear something soon from Saffron

I phoned them the other day to check and they confirmed receipt of my application. There is a post dated cheque for 27 April, so by 29th (or 30th) this ought to 'cash' and I can phone up to get my new account number - even assuming they haven't got the paperwork out to me yet

Then, for the standing order it will be:

    Sort Code 20-74-05
    Account number 00775991
    Reference [8 digits, probably]

Correct - it is 8 digits.

    The Passbook states:
Please quote these details for incoming credits to the account

    Sort Code: 20-74-07

    Bank Account: 00775991

    Account Number/Reference:

Please quote Account number shown opposite - first 8 digits only

    Hi,

My cheque was for the 6th of April but got cashed on the 16th.

I'm still waiting for a letter of confirmation and they haven't setup any direct debit.

    Regards,

    giruzz
  • Our passbook shows that the cheque has been back dated to the 6th April and our cheque got cashed yesterday
