......................they confirmed they are working on the backlog and expect all accounts to be opened by the end of this week.

    HTH

I phoned them today for an update and was told that they expect the accounts to be opened by the middle of next month now.

????? Are they going to backdate the interest? I bet they aren't.

Also how are we supposed to make next month's payment when we don't have an account number or sort code?

I think I'll be making a formal complaint when they finally get round to opening my account.

Then, for the standing order it will be:

    Sort Code 20-74-05
    Account number 00775991
    Reference [8 digits, probably]

    Hi,

I am unsure about how to set this up using Halifax online. To set up the SO I am asked to provide the following information:

    Receiving sort code:
    Receiving account number:
    Recipient:
    Reference:

    Receiving sort code = 20 74 05; correct?
receiving account number = Is that the 00775991?
Recipient: I assume that´s my name then?
Reference: Is this the 8digit figure that they filled out behind "Society account number"?

I am confused seeing an account number and a "Society account number" and want to make sure I don´t set the SO up incorrectly.

Could you please help? Thank you!

I stand corrected. I have received an e-mail from this in which they promise to backdate any interest. So now, they can take as long as they like, from my point of view.

In fact, the longer the better, as I am earning two lots of interest (ISA an non-ISA) on the money I should have deposited with them.

    Well done Saffron BS!!!

No, put 'Saffron B/Soc' or similar - this is simply what will appear on your Halifax statement
Reference: Is this the 8digit figure that they filled out behind "Society account number?
Correct. Very important to get that part right or the payment will be unrecognised and sent back otherwise.
