ISA's in a year - multiple accounts or providers
Some of the information in the web pages states that you can only fund one provider in a year. Sites such as the Halifax say you can only fund one account in a year. "Number of accounts - you can only fund one cash ISA during any one tax year." If the Halifax is right what happens in October when the allowances for the…

Convert Cash ISA to Shares ISA
I'm sure I read somewhere that in 2009/10 we'll be able to convert our cash ISAs in to stocks and shares ISAs. Did I imagine it? If not, has anyone done this and who offers this service? I've searched on the net but can't find anything.

Providers of S&S ISA for Gilts
I want to invest in Gilts within a S&S ISA. My bank and building society only offer managed funds for S&S ISA. What I want is to choose my own investments and not be reliant on some fund manager. Where is the best place to go for this type of saving?

Halifax fixed rate ISA saver
Am thinking of applying for a Halifax fixed rate ISA saver. But: it says in the small print that this product "does not meet government stakeholder standards for ISAs". Why? and should I therefore avoid it? Also, I want to transfer my HSBC ISA from last year (return is down very low), but will there be a transfer fee? I…

Halifax Direct Reward ISA + Natwest E-ISA
I am in the process of applying for a Natwest E-ISA. I applied before the 15th May so hopefully I'll get the higher 3.5% rate. However, I am tempted to also open a Halifax Direct Reward ISA as the 3% rate is fixed for a year, so if the Natwest rate drops below 3% I can transfer it to the Halifax ISA and forget about it for…

Transfering Cash Isa's and remaining within the one new account a year rule.
To transfer in a cash ISA from a previous year some providers are asking me to open an ISA account with a small sum and then transfer in my existing ISA's from previous years. I assume that I am then locked into that provider for the whole of the year because I can only open one ISA account a year. Am I able to transfer…

20k Underpeforming in an ISA?
A friend has asked me what to do, she has an ISA which she has been paying in £200 per month since 2000. The figure quoted if she cashed it today it would get her £20,000. Her question is what to do with the cash, she has barely made any profits over the past 8-9 years with the ISA. Does anyone have any suggestions?
