When I empty the washing up water out of my kitchen sink, it goes down the plug hole, but I face the back garden and when I nip outside all the water is overflowing from the small round grill on the paving stone at the edge of my house. What do you think? Do I just need to stick a washing up glove on and get my arm down…

Washing machine pump or motor dead - advice please
OK, it's a Hotpoint Aquarius 1200 Plus, the instruction book says it's for Models WM61 to WM65 but I'm not sure whether that's relevant. Not sure how old it is, probably 3+ years. It fills with water and it pumps and spins the water out, but it doesn't do any agitating in between. I thought it was just sticking, so have…

Toilets
I want to have a new bathroom fitted pretty cheaply. The toilet I have at the moment uses a waste pipe set into the (concrete) floor, I guess it's just an old-fashioned kind? All the new toilets I have seen whilst shopping would use a waste pipe set into the wall. Can one still buy the old kind, or is there some sort of…

TSUNAMI-RECYCLE OLD CHRISTMAS CARDS
Before it is too late, another way to help with this disaster is to recycle your old Xmas cards by popping them into Tesco or WH Smith. It will not benefit the area immidiately, but last year some 15000 trees were saved. And seeing the areas that were devasted, forests will at some point be important to the continuing…
