Log Cabin Homes
I've been thinking about buying a log cabin home to put on a piece of land I have owned for years. I understand I will have to get planning permission to put up the building, but does anyone have any experience of living in one of these buildings? Are they warm enough in winter? Do they last well? I am thinking of fitting…

My Hotel Cancelled our Booking
My partner and I booked online to stay 2 nights in Brighton on the 30/12/09. We paid 50% upfront by card. We received a call from the hotel the next day, telling us that the Hotel would be closed for refurbishment and that they would refund us our money. Are they allowed to do this? Should they honour our booking or at…

Information on how to get patient to doctor numbers
Don't suppose anyone knows how or if you can access patient numbers per doctor for your local practice? I'm trying to oppose a housing development and it seems very possible that our local surgery is overstretched so it would be good to prove it would put extra strain on this.

Halfterm ideas for family with huge age gap
Hi, I have an age gap of 10 years between my children (yes I know I'm mad). I'm struggling to find things to do which they would both find fun aside from park and swimming. My son is 11 and daughter is 16 months. Has anyone else out there got a huge age gap. What do you do that works out well for both? Thanks Bax

Manchester: secondhand bookshop that buys books?
I've got a load of books to get rid of quickly. Nothing special, mostly the usual paperback novels. I've had some listed on GreenMetropolis and Amazon but no takers for these, so it's time to ditch 'em. I don't have time (or a car!) to take them to a car boot. I might have to just give them to charity shops and Freecycle,…

Bristol Reward ME card
The information desk at the Bristol Mall in Broadmead (which you probably think of as The Galleries but times change and so must names!) has a Reward Card. I am not sure how long it's been going, but it seems pretty decent atm, and the Rewards are not limited to just those shops and food outlets: there are also offers…

London - free party venues?
