Morrisons Bollinger champagne offer

Options
Has anyone actually been able to find one of these cut-price bottles of bubbly?

I've been to three Morrisons in North London today and in each store have been told 'we're expecting a delivery tomorrow/later in the week".
One manager insisted that he had had some in, although there was no sign of where they might have been on the shelving and other staff denied ever having seen any.
The other two admitted they'd never had any stock yet.
In all cases there were several shoppers who'd been drawn by the advertisements (and no doubt by yesterday's mailout).

Surely this couldn't be a cynical ploy to attract shoppers, who, having made the effort to get there, will then spend money anyway?

  • That's odd went to my local Morrisons yesterday & they had all varieties & loads of them

It's probably a north/south thing, you lot are more likely to drink bubbly hence always sold out whilst were more likely to cane the beer
  • Its not a ploy.

We sold 14 cases of Bollinger on Monday alone, compared to one case every couple of months usually.

The demand has exceeded expectations so some stores will inevitably run out.

Keep trying, they'll get some in.

Might be worth phoning to check if theyve got any before you go out.

We got six bottles between two of us (allowed I think) although the second time we didn't get much choice.
This was in Chippenham on Thurs and Fri evening.

    I don't think it's Morrisons fault.
It's down to sheer weight of numbers and probably some people talking more than they are entitled to.
  • Like Timaldi, I have been to Morrisons in North London to no avail for Bollinger and Moet & Chandon. Plenty of the less popular ones, but no Bolli or Moet. I have spoken to staff and managers and have been told the same thing " We are not getting any extra cases in, and have no idea until they turn up". Enfield said the are filling up every day, but no 'aisle ends' just the normal shelf space of about 15-20 bottles. Camden said same. Plenty of disgruntled shoppers. I expect more than usual to be on display if they are advertising on TV and national papers. What a con!

I had to go to a union meeting on Monday, so it was nearly 11pm when I got home. My wife had bought two bottles of Bolly from our local Morrissons (Whitefield, Manchester). Not seen any since though?
