  • Hi - the lush shop is on Coney street just around the corner from Bettys (don't go there for coffee unless you want to extend the mortgage!).
There is a fabulous cafe on Gillygate called Cafe no 8 - if you want lunch I would book.
The little shops around Little Stonegate and Grape Lane are lovely (There's a Mulberry factory shop!), and the best shop for little bits and bobs is called Blossom and Walker and is at the bottom of Lord Mayors Walk, just the other side of Monk Bar.
Actually - there is a fab bar/coffee shop called Kokos on the corner of Goodramgate - it's really a bar, but they do the best Lavazza coffee, and a big glass of Champagne for £5,50.
If I think of anything else I will add is later.
    Have a lovely time.
    Lesley.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

  • York's a bit tricky to navigate around because it's full of alley's and side streets that lead all over the place! However everything is really central and in close distance- you can pretty much find your way to the Mister from anywhere so that acts as a good point of navigation!

Such a beautiful place- very ucky to have lived locally for a few years.

There's also a huge McCarthur Glen on the outskirts- not usually my fav places but last time I went I got a pair of LK bennet shoes for £20 should've been £200 and a great Ralph Lauren store! Will be going again in the new year when I visit friends up there

    Have a great time

York is one of my very favourite places, we visit often and i can vouch for everything fitorbust says. I live about 20 miles away and visit often.
So oldeworlde and none of this townie concrete and clay rubbish.
Lovely and Christmassy at this time of year.

Walk down the shambles, just off the market, its a treat.

You'll have a brilliant time. You will want to come back in the summer for a few days because 1 day is just not enough to take it all in.
Note - Dont go the the Jorvick Centre, whatever you do.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
