Morning, I have been invited to interview for the NHS for a role in the communications department at a local NHS trust - it’s Band 4 role. I’m just wondering if anybody has any advice - in terms of type of questions? I’m across their social media and have noted down how different platforms could be utilised and improved,…

New employer refuses to give me a contract stating conditions and pay. After several months, and taking a weeks leave , I didn't get any pay for this, and when I asked why , the reply was holiday pay is included in my wages every month. I definitely need some advice here , before I start rocking the boat . So. No contract.…

The tax threshold and couples
This might seem like a stupid question so sorry in advance. The PAYE tax threshold. Let's say it's £12k for argument's sake. If you're living as a couple (or even married) and you both have a full time job, each wage is protected for the first £12k right? But if you are the sole income earner for a couple with children,…

Self assessment: does profit < £1,000 mean I'm not self-employed any more?
I was filling my self-assessment tax return. I made less than £1,000. The final recap screen stated "In the year starting 6 April 2023 and ending 5 April 2024 you have told us you: (...) were not self-employed". Why does it say that I'm not self-employed? I've been self-employed for many years. If I submit this, will the…

TUPE - new contracts
OK so the old company that I worked for sold to another company on 14th November 2024. We was informed at the time that our contracts were protected by TUPE and we would basically just carry on as we were. On 14th January 2025, I had a new contract land in my personal email box. No notice, no indication of why. I haven’t…

I am frightened that I won’t be able to make it…

I was on a contract for a company contracted to a business and the business decided to take the contract on themselves and I was transferred over on a tupe contract.
