Appealing PIP decision - interview paperwork missing information
Hi, I’m appealing the decision made for PIP. Originally, I said I wanted to appeal just the mobility, but looking through the interview notes the nurse made, there are things missing here and there, answers I gave and explained are ridiculously short, limited to four word sentences in some instances. My walking has…

Salary sacrifice and carers allowance
I am claiming carers allowance at the moment. I am wanting to go back to work and will be hiring a car through a salary sacrifice scheme. This will reduce my already part time hours below the wage for carers £123. I know someone who works with me who does this she states it’s the gross salary they look at so it’s fine. I…

Hoist for mobility scooter (also s'hand fitters)
Hi all I've been looking at getting a secondhand Hoist fitted in my Fiat Doblo as hubby has had another heart attack. I've phoned everyone in the area (SE Wales) and no-one is willing to fit - the motability fitting outlets won't fit 2nd hand ones anyway. I did find a company in Filton, Bristol that sold & installed…

I’ve been awarded high mob - high care until 2025. Without face to face.
If two people with disabilities who both get high rate mobility go on holiday together for 1 week- supporting each other, with support plans from supported living company and always someone on hand in case of emergencies would that be okay if your both claiming high rate mobility, for none mobility issues?

They say PIP application hasn't arrived.
After receiving notification that my wife's DLA (higher rate) was ending, we phoned to apply for PIP. Received 40 page brochure of questions and completed it. Asked at the Post Office for them to take it in, rather than put in box outside. They asked if I would like a proof of posting as they had been told some hadn't…

He can use headphones to listen to radio and talking books with no problem. But talking to him we have to shout. Both he and I cannot understand why there are no…

I've been awarded PIP
I am actually in shock. Money was paid into my account this morning. Not had my letter yet but I assume I've been given the standard rate, not for mobility, my mobility is ok at the moment. I'm just so surprised, I was expecting a letter to say no and then having to do the MR and tribunal route. Especially after reading…

Appealing PIP decision - what do I need to ask for?
I’ve not got any complaints about the process, but the decision. I’ve shown my doctor, and neither of us believe it is a good reflection or understanding of the evidence that has been sent in. I scored 8 points on the mobility, but they paid little attention to the repetitive and reliability of my ability to move. I…

Confusion about DLA to PIP Change Over
Hi Everyone, I am really confused and hope that you can help. I was on low rate DLA for life then got the dreaded brown envelope 'inviting' me to apply for PIP. I had supporting evidence which I sent. An assessor phoned my GP and CPN then lied on her report. My case was given to another assessor who phoned my GP and CPN to…

Carers credit
I had to give up work 2 years ago (July 2017) to look after my severly disabled husband. I was 59 years old & therefore would lose some of my State Pension under the new system. I found someone had posted something about a little known Carers credit on MSE & started to look into it. Carer’s Credit is a National Insurance…
