More QE on the way?
Were how many years on now from the trouble in 2007/8? And the EU is still touting more QE? Meanwhile, China are throwing everything at the stock market again and the US is still making noises about possibly not carrying out the rate rise they may have possibly carried out. Can QE even fix the problem anymore?

Perception vs Reality
An interesting series of quotes below..... Taken at face value, you'd think these people were from an inner city ghetto, over-run by immigrants. There is of course just one problem with these attitudes. The interviewed parties were not living in Boston, or Luton, or some other area with high immigration. They were living…

US Growth
It's surged ahead of it's estimates.... Another conundrum for interest rates then. Noteworthy is that brent crude is up a staggering 10+% on the back of this. http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/aug/27/us-economic-growth-strong-revised

Black Monday - Apparently
Telegraph has it's top story today with the headline "Black Monday". It's more of a live feed than an article, but interesting choice of title! Not much on all of this on here. However: - Shanghai composite has fallen 9% - FTSE has fallen 2.5% - Brent Crude has fallen 4.5% And this is just today. The live feed does have…

Wil 2015 be 20 times worse than 2008 ?
Should we be buying tins of fish ? Is Gorden Brown buying tins of fish ? Should we be buying shares in fish tinning companies ? Or tin openers ? Or tin mines ? Or more London property ? Or maps of London ? http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/aug/27/net-migration-predicted-to-hit-record-level

Lego a better investment than shares or gold
Fancy an investment with a 12% return? Then forget gold, property etc - you should be buying Lego. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/investing/11817380/Lego-a-better-investment-than-shares-and-gold.html All you have to do is keep it pristine and store it properly. Jeremy Corbyn wins economists’ backing for anti-austerity policies
I wouldn't worry to much, this information won't 'trickle down' to swing voters, such as Sun readers. The last PM to gain power without Murdoch's support was Harold Wilson. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/aug/22/jeremy-corbyn-economists-backing-anti-austerity-policies-corbynomics?CMP=twt_gu …

BTL tax changes to cost London Landlords over £1B a year
~700,000 BTLs in London. I figure wear and tear loss is ~£350 on average = ~£245 million And I guess the interest rate offset changes will collect an additional = ~£800 million* Does the budget reveal how they think changes will impact taxes collected? I would be interested to have a look at the treasury estimates but cant…

Are the eternal optimists on here still feeling optimistic?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29566009 With the global recovery looking ever more shaky are the regular band of optimists on here still positive about the economic outlook for the UK? What positives can we take from this new (sorry, predictable) looming financial crisis?

Should workers be rewarded for the profits they help to create?
Question says it all really. Comes as new figures are released for cheif exec pay of the FTSE100 companies. The figure has risen again, now standing at 183x the average wage. Impossible to put a figure on how much it "should" be, but should employees of these companies also benefit. Many of them will be on minimum wage or…

It's time to lay siege to the robber barons of high finance
http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/its-time-to-lay-siege-to-the-robber-barons-of-high-finance-10468512.html I fear however there are too many vested interests, because the UK as a whole is a wealth extractor rather than creator due to the size of its financial sector.
