triggered by lets say a global stock market crash, like the one thats happening right now. C H I N A!

Just make sure you stay under the 75k FSCS threshold for any banking license.0

I've been wondering whether the UK Government might go in for the form of theft called a "bail-in" for a while now.
Oh well.....you can only do what you can do. So - I've spent the vast majority of my savings (ie on work on recently-moved to house), got the garden up-and-running producing as much of my food as possible.
Not to mention that I decided that one way to reduce the amount of money sitting in my bank account at any given point was to decide that the State part of my pension (due to start turning up at last shortly) will be paid into my account weekly, rather than monthly. I didn't want a noticeable size wodge of income coming in - with no clear immediate destination for it going out again. Hence - weekly.
Re my (monthly) job pension coming in - I've got the monthly direct debits scheduled to be taken out the next day anyway - so some of that wont be hanging around in my bank account for long.0 -

Everybody dies mate. I hope I haven't spoiled the ending for you.0 -
Was my post removed? Or did I just have a senior moment there?
I repeat (or maybe not) this is on the wrong board.0 -

OK under normal circumstances, but what of those people who are temporarily receiving/sending funds? e.g. house cash purchases, or part thereof. Or probate/estate accounts awaiting distribution, or those who have just received a payout (lottery, insurance, inheritance).
There are a few times in one's life when one might have larger sums passing through on a temporary basis!
And all those solicitors who are holding all those house monies from exchange to completion. 20-30 deposits on houses, say.
Or your boss - the monthly payrun.0 -

I'll happily pass on your offer to the US president
I think I read once that a trillion dollars in $50 bills stacked would reach to a height of 62 miles.
Do you get altitude sickness when sleeping?
You'd have to divide the height by the number of footprints the notes could make. One pile might be 62 miles high, but if you break that down into smaller piles, how many smaller piles can be stuck under, say, a King Size bed?
And I'm sure michaels has already worked it out and is probably awaiting a basement extension planning permission that goes down 1/4 of a mile.
A quick calculation shows it'd be 200-250 piles.0 -
