Legacy
An aunt left a sum of money to a charity in her will but when she died there was no cash to give to the charity after paying for the debts to the council for her nursing home charges. Part of the debt was set against the Aunts former home but the two main beneficiaries paid for the remainder of the debt out of their own…

Dedicated charity boards?
Hi, I was wondering whether anyone is aware of any fully-dedicated forums / boards where people can get advice on choosing charities and/or discuss? Appreciate this here is already a great platform but it is a sub-forum of a broader platform that is mostly focused on other topics. I have tried to look around but for some…

Can anyone help me to get eBay to 'cough up' in support of charity. Postage Stamps For Fundraising
Just to let people know that I purchased postage stamps from charities in order to help them raise funds. I pay £10 per kilo for any and all unsorted stamps collected. I enjoy sorting them while I care for my 2 disabled grandson's who are at home 24/7 now due to Covid and me being extremely vulnerable. I have been doing…

Would foodbanks accept spare unused Christmas cards?
Hi, Does anyone know if foodbanks are likely to accept a few unused Christmas cards? Bought some boxes of assorted Christmas cards and, inevitably, there are some designs I don't like (am way too fussy!). Would normally hand the surplus in to a Salvation Army Centre or similar, but we don't have a car and don't want to…

Alternative to cash collection for a charity
I'm involved with a charity and we normally have a small Christmas fundraiser/activity where we sell something for £2.50. The main aim is to provide a service to our community, we make very little on this - the reason we charge is to cover our costs. Usually we take this in cash as we see people in person but obviously…

I came across this part of Amazon, smile.amazon.co.uk It links to your amazon account, costs nothing and 0.5% of the cost of what you have spent can be donated to your charity of choice. I'm not trying to promote Amazon but if you are going to use them might as well some of this going to charity. Please share and spread…

Are any Charity Shops accepting bric-a-brac yet?
Particularly in Scotland ... I have so many boxes of bric-a-brac to donate, but finding it difficult to give them anywhere. I realise that charities are following CV19 guidelines they have been given, but perhaps someone knows of somewhere which is starting to accept donations. It is very frustrating, knowing I have lots…

Raffle item with no warranty
Advice needed - Last year we (Registered charity PCA) purchased some gas BBQs for our school - however we then found out they couldn’t use them. We have 2 BBQs that have been made up and never used and are now out of warranty too. Can we put them in a raffle or does the fact they have no warranty make this a no go? We’d…

Paypal account for charity?
I am involved with a charity that has come to rely on Paypal (classes formerly delivered in-person with a fee paid in cash are now delivered on-line with payment being made by Paypal). Paypal is treating this charity as a business, and once revenues passed a certain point refused to allow money to be transferred from…

Donations - Cleaning
HI all I've got about ten good quality three piece suits in good condition that I'd like to donate. However, having lost my job, I can't afford to get them all dry cleaned. Do charity shops clean goods before sale or should I try to dispose of them elsewhere? I'm embarrassed not to be able to clean them myself. Any advice?

Outstanding sponsorship
I am involved with a local charity rugby team. A company has agreed to sponsor the team and the money was to be used to pay for a playing kit. The kit has been supplied but the sponsor still hasn't paid us so we don't have the money to pay the kit supplier. What are our options as the supplier is becoming very impatient.…
