Payroll giving for a charity, where one is employed

Dear all,

I will be thankful for your advice on this. I am going to be employed by a charity in near future in a part time role - but I also wanted to support the same charity. Is it possible to have use payroll giving to one's employing charity.

My salary is fixed and hence it cannot be reduced.

Only if they have set up a facility for Payroll Giving, which is by no means certain.

From the charity's point of view, it may not be as efficient as direct giving, plus it may be of very limited benefit to them - employees would be able to use the scheme to give elsewhere.

Is there a problem with giving direct with Gift Aid?

Have you considered using a charity account with CAF, if your charity doesn't offer Payroll Giving.
That is straightforward and attracts the tax uplift.
