Is lead in paint nowadays highly unlikely?
I bought a few small tins of paint in a pound shop (not the well known ones) three smalls tins of gloss, one for painting the metal and the other two for painting the wood on a garden bench. What an odour came from them, and you can tell they are not quality paints, made in Bradford I think. The thought crossed my mind, do…

Basic use tablet, ideas please ?
My wife has never shown any interest in the internet and only uses her mobile in an emergency and never texts. I'm thinking of buying her a basic tablet so I can give her links to newspapers/magazines etc. I'm sure then, she would be able to receive and send text via the tablet. Oh, I would connect it using my home wifi.…

Browser says "Live.com not responding" and "long-running script?"
Hi - a neighbour with Hotmail browser issues; (mine works so assume this is not releated to the recent Microsoft mail issue). It looks like this may be a script running the banner advert that Microsoft includes in its mail pages. If so, just wondering if an ad blocker may be a viable "fix"? Anybody experienced this? Cheers.

Why isn't DAB the future?
Until the last week or so, I've never really been torn either way on DAB. I have a fairly old DAB radio at home that I got from ASDA years ago and has performed really well, but for many, the issue seems to be that on the move, DAB performs pitifully. Well, having bought my banger (that I spoke about in the bangernomics…

Telephone and Broadband Socket
Hi, We've bought a new house and have recently signed up for Sky broadband. After having a look at the telephone site coming into the house, we realised that none of the wires are actually connected. I was wondering if it would be worth buying cable and a socket myself and getting someone to fit it rather than pay BT. I…
