Hi all, can anyone give me any pointers towards a new laptop, basically it will be used just for emails and the Internet,so it doesnt have to be all singing and dancing,my old one was a Medion with 2gb of ram, t5250, 1.5ghz, whatever that means, I've looked at the likes of ebuyer and PCs world and there are a few basic models, but they all have different specs which I do not understand,, and then when I read the reviews people say these models are slow, but I guess anyone would be faster than my old laptop, which was brought when vista was about, so it's quite old, hope someone can give me some ideas?

What is your budget?
You could do worse for £147, with the promo code student10; http://mcscom.co.uk/product/dell-inspiron-15-3521-i3-3217u-1-80ghz-4gb-500gb-15-6-hd-90day-rtb-wty-mln641/
You might need to reinstall the original OS and then update or it might take to Windows 10 straight away.0 -
Anybody, does this mean as i have a windows seven installation disc, i just install this and everything will work ok?0

Do you have a valid product key that goes with the disc? From whence did you obtain it?
If all is in order, it would be a good idea to up the RAM to 4GB. at the same time as backing up any important data and running a clean install.0 -
I would recommend a second hand one with a warranty. CeX do a good selection. Apparently avoid Intel Celeron processors.....0

I kept the price low in order to leave space in the budget for an SSD. The nearly £40 saving could almost cover the cost.
Easy to swap in those machines.0
