Watch British TV.com

Does anyone have any experience of using this to watch BBC catch up? (We have no licence as we very rarely watch TV)

If you are in the UK you will require a TV licence to view BBC Iplayer.

  • But of course if you have a TV license you still can't watch when abroad and you can't get a refund for the time you can't watch it .... Discuss that with your MP perhaps

Depending on which VPN you have, it's possible to watch BBC iplayer, 4 OD & the ITV hub.
I do this quite often and although I sometimes have to change vpn servers, this isn't much of a problem.

So do I , but why do I, I pay the license fee ergo I should be able to watch wherever and whenever without messing about with VPNs. I have asked TV licensing for a rebate for when I can't , fat chance though:D

But it's your choice to be (at times) in a location where "broadcast" is not available, so why should TVL give a rebate?

Do you expect your car insurance to give a rebate just because you're overseas and can't drive your car?

Do you expect DVLA to give a rebate likewise? (This analogy is probably closest to TVL).

    ;):D
  • Nope , we take the car with us often, I just object to the BBC penalising the people who pay the bulk of their revenue
