Older Garmin satnavs, Emily calling time.
We purchased a Garmin a few weeks before they introduced free map updates for life.....such is life. We have been allowed to update the software for free since then. Now we find that they are withdrawing support soon for any of you who have used this facility till now. If you don't want to miss the last chance to update…

Looking for online where I can be a wiseman/woman selling potions not a warrior
I asked this question first a couple of years back but drew a blank. Thought I would try again now to see if there have been any recent development. I realise that most online games involve making a quest through a dangerous landscape and killing enemies, muggers and wild animals etc. but I do't want to wander round…

Which Monochrome Laser Printer would folk here recommend ?
My HP deskjet printer has finally packed up, so I am need of a replacement. I never print out in colour, so folk have suggested I buy a laser printer, which would be more economical. I don't actually print out too many pages per day, maybe just 3 or 4 per day (on average) so I do not need a high spec, super fast machine.…

How many Terrabytes to digitise a library?
I was discussing how big hard drives have become with somebody very non-techie, and was trying to explain how big hard drives have become over the years. I said something along the lines of 'a 2 TB drive could probably store all of the local library's books' Now I know bitmaps and page scans are much more bit-intensive…

TV speakers humming - will a soundbar fix this?
Hiya, In the ethos of the site, I do not want to go out and buy a brand new TV as the picture is fine on it, but every 10-15 minutes the speakers hum for a short while and then stop. I imagine it will get progressively worse. If I bought a sound bar and hooked it up to the TV, would it therefore solve the problem by…
