Would a Samsung N110 with 1 Gb ram and currently running Windows XP be capable of running Windows 7?

Depends if it's 32 or 64 bit, although even if it will run I'd imagine it will be grindingly slow.

Make sure that the latest firmware has been installed and upgrade the RAM to 2GB for £14.30 for the 2GB module
Should run smoothly with Windows 7 Starter.
Have sent you a PM.0 -
I run an NC10 with 2Gb on Win 7 Home Premium with Office 2010 without a problem. The N110 seems to be a newer version.
Win7 drivers are available from the Samsung siteThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

So if I'm "quite wrong" why have you then recommended an update to 2GB RAM? Surely if you're so right then the OP is wasting £14.30.0 -
With only 1Gb (basing it on my experience with my NC10) it is not 'grindingly slow'. It was never a fast machine to start with but it is slow primarily due to the processor and additional HD use due to the lack of memory doesn't help. An extra 1Gb helps. The Atom N270 isn't exactly a fast processor regardless of what you have it in but it is usable for the basics of WP & web use.
Fitting an SSD also helps speed it up a bit as well. The bonus being that it also increases battery life. I can still get 6 hours out of mineThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

A clean install, wiping away the unnecessary Samsung software, can make a lot of difference.
My ZG5 has the same processor and runs Starter with 1.5GB with no problem at all.
The N110 will be fine with 2GB of RAM.0
