Anyone looking for a bargain laptop could do well by checking : http://www.medion.com/gb/shop/budget-laptops-lenovo-g575-laptop-m5255uk-refurbished-55049221b.html
It has an acceptable processor - with 6Gb of RAM and a decent hard disk - And includes Windows 7 - for £149 - it is a refurbished model which means that it may have a few marks on the case, but is fully guaranteed for 12 months !!

Personally, I would spend the extra £15 on this Medion Akoya E6234/MD98409
The Lenovo machine has an poor processor.0 -
That machine went missing within seconds
Now only this Medion Akoya E6234/MD98409 left for £161.49.
Just £5.54 more than the Lenovo...but far better spec.0 -

OK I agree - but neither will pull the skin off a rice pudding and your two come with Win 8 rather than a proper OS...........0 -

Sorry, but that is nonsense. The processor in the Medion is three times as capable as the the one in the Lenovo. Even the Graphics portion is more capable.
Some appear to be happy with the upgrade to 8.1 Update 1 and Classic Shell(if necessary).
For those who reject Windows 8, it is easy enough to downgrade to Windows 7.0 -
