Something connected to my router?

Please bear with me....
I "login" to my router on 192.168.2.1
When I look at the client list there is my ipad and laptop, but also 198.168.2.2 with no host name. What is this, is it the router itself or someone stealing my wifi?

phone? kid's phone? sky box? any name/device ID there?......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

They are only 'stealing your wi-fi' if you've allowed password access, so change it anyway as a precaution. What level of security are you using? If it's still on WEP, the average 8 year old can hack it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

There is no name next to it at all and I've changed the password and it's still there? Ideas or thoughts...?{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

Hi
The default address for Belkin is 192.168.2.1, so if that is it's address you will be above that number.
Try using the 'Command Prompt' and typing 'ipconfig -all' and get a listing. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Which password did you change? There are two - the web access to change settings and the WiFi password. It's the WiFi password you should change to force all clients into entering the new password.
Have you got anything plugged into one of the ports?0 -
Blacklist (temporarily) the MAC address and see what stops working?0

I've changed the wifi password to access the network. Thats why I'm confused as to why the address is present. The only other devices listed are the ones I've logged in with on the new wifi password...{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

nothing in the ethernet ports?......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

In that case very strange. I don't believe it can possibly be a hacker if it reappeared as soon as you rebooted as they'd need to have spotted the drop and recracked it pretty much instantly.
Pop the reported MAC into http://www.coffer.com/mac_find/ - it should at least give some clue to the type of device.
If it isn't a glitch with the router then I'm still thinking you must have something plugged in. Try opening a command prompt and pinging the IP ie ping 192.168.2.2 to see if there is a response.
Have you power cycled the router?0 -
Cycled the router, nothing in the ports. I'll see what the mac finder throws up{Signature removed by Forum Team}0
