Converting Ipod videos to AVI(XVID)
I've recently bought an Intenso Video Cruiser MP3/4 player. Whilst the MP3 side of it works a treat I can't get the videos to play at all. It did come with a video conversion programme but sadly it just crashes on my PC. I've got a lot of video clips that are on my Ipod that I want to transfer to this. It says that the…

Large Buttoned Clock Radio
Does anyone know where I can get hold of a clock radio with large (and preferably very few) buttons on it. It doesn't really matter about the number of buttons as such as long as there are very few on the top. At the moment he has a DAB radio alarm clock and almost everyday we have to re-set it as he's pressed a wrong…

I'm looking for a good desktop for about £500, I already have an LCD monitor, so it's really just a base unit. Norton renewals
Any Norton customers coming up for their annual renewal date consider buying a new disc rather than following through the on-line renewal process. I have Norton 360 on my 2 computers. With 30 days to my subscription renewal date I start getting reminders to renew. The cost to carry on for another 12 months is £65. PC World…

Recommendation For Cheap Laptop That Will Play Sims 2
Apologies if this is in the wrong place. My daughter wants to buy a laptop to play the Sims 2 on, but she has limited funds of £200. I don't know enough about computers to know if this is possible or not. Are there any laptops around for that kind of money, that will have good enough specs to play the game? As I don't want…

standard DVI to VGA cable support 1080p?
I've recently bought a new computer and I am curious to whether a standard DVI to VGA cable will support the 23" 1080p monitor I have bought with it? I understand that I could purchase a HDMI cable it would most definately support HD movies on the screen. However, I don't want to go out and buy one if I don't need to. :D

Resurrecting an ancient laptop - Linux distribution?
Hey, I've just inherited a fairly old laptop (it has Windows XP but also a floppy disk drive so I'm not exactly sure how old it is), it runs very slowly though I'm hoping that because of the volume of rubbish software on it. I read somewhere once about a version of Ubuntu that was specifically stripped-down for use on old…

BEWARE of callers claiming to be from Microsoft
Half an hour ago, I had a telephone call from a foreign sounding man, claiming to be from Microsoft and he would sort out my problems. Politely I told him my computer was fine and to go away. My Electronic Timers are "dead"

Tried plugging them in, and an appliance in the timer socket. The appliance works, but there is no display on the…

How Can I Block api.ak.facebook.com?
Ever since that stupid facebook et al block appeared to the right of the first post in a thread, I've regularly had big problems with pages downloading. So much so that I've just seen the red mist and decided the block the f3ck3r. I get "waiting for api.ak.facebook.com" in the status bar, so figured there must be a way of…
