Ever since that stupid facebook et al block appeared to the right of the first post in a thread, I've regularly had big problems with pages downloading. So much so that I've just seen the red mist and decided the block the f3ck3r.
I get "waiting for api.ak.facebook.com" in the status bar, so figured there must be a way of stopping it/blocking it, easily.
Help, suggestions, etc, please.

Assuming you have a windows machine simply all the address to our HOST file and point it at your internal network 127.0.0.1 (or something similar). That way, when your computer 'looks' for that address it will simply route to your own computer.
Google how to do it if your worried!0 -
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0 -

This is probably completely unnecessary. This facebook domain is known to be slow so it is unlikely to be the user's computer that is the problem
Using the adblock method is probably the best way is you're already using adblock. Otherwise the hosts file method is just fine.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_%28file%29 for more info as nobody actually said where the file is located :rotfl:0 -
I get the same problem intermittantly, always sticks on the first post for ages when it happens.
Mostly fine, but a pain when it starts.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0
