How - ie by what means - do these cards actually work? How does the computer - or nationwide - know that the 'random' number which comes up on the cardreader 'connects' to the payment details online? Can't fathom it out - ie, obviously no connection(?) between card-reader and pc...? Or is there?

Netgear dg834g and AOL
I've just bought a wireless modem router (the one above) and it seems to be 'locked' into AOL.I use Orange. When I insert the setup CD it asks that I log onto AOL Broadband which, of course I haven.t got. Is there any way of using this modem or is it permanently locked into AOL ?
