in Techie Stuff
when i start up my laptop the arrow will not move from the centre of the screen,so i cannot do anything at all,but when i remove the battery everything is perfect,any help appreiciated.

have you tried plugging in a USB mouse, and if it works then try reinstalling the touchpad's drivers......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

If it hangs on boot up then it's trying, unsuccesfully, to load something.
Does <Ctrl><Alt><Del> bring up the Taskmanager?
If so there will probably be a "non-responding" application. Stop it and see what happens.0
