Reformatted Dell machine but no sound
I've reformatted my 2 year old Dell Dimension 3000 for the first time in order to improve peformance (previously was getting lots of errors etc). I now have no sound through the speakers. I have tried installing the driver using the resource CD but to no avail. Could any help with why I am getting no sound? Thanks!

Partitioned or Separate Harddrive for OS
Just building a new PC and was wondering if it's better to create a separate partition just for OS & programs or to have it installed on a separate harddrive? Are there any significant performance issues either way? Could I use an old 80GB laptop drive for the OS drive?
