Hi
Aftr much playing around I have managed to get Vista working on my laptop.
When I i installed it I kept XP on on my C drive with all my settings etc rather than put the upgrade over it.
I put Vista on D drive, which I formatted.
I would now like to use Vista full time.
How do I go about taking Vista off the D Drive and reloading the upgrade over XP on C drive.
The orginal idea was to have a dual boot for a while but once I put Vista on I never managd to boot back into XP.
The only reason for doing this is to get all my documents, software etc and see what works with Vista.
Thanks for any help you can give
Martin

Have a look at this forum thread HERE.It seems that Vista isnt that easy to remove from that partition but it can be done and was resolved in the final post......
Quote:
use PartitionMagic command line tools to reset XP as the active partition..
1) Deleted partition.
2) Get Vista Boot Pro, install, and run.
3) Delete the entire boot system (for Vista) by pressing on the button that says "Delete Vista boot system" or something similiar.
I have nothing better to do!!!!

To be honest, i'd start over. Reinstall XP and vista, so you're starting with a completely clean slate. Thats what i'd do personally. An uninstall will leave plenty legacy, so better to be clean!Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0
