Hi, I am wanting to make a photo slideshow CD for my sister-in-laws birthday, there are 64 pictures in all and I was wanting to add a song to play in the background.
I need this to work on a normal DVD player, I have looked in many places but either you have to buy the full program or are limited to 10 pictures!
Is there any freeware or unlimited picture trial programs out there that I can use. Im getting desperate, I might have to spend some money!!

Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.

If you have office then Powerpoint will do this for you. If you do not have office then go to https://www.microsoft.co.uk and you can download a 60 day trial of Office 2007.
You create individual slides each with a picture on it, add the music track and set timings for the slideshow. When you have finished you can set this to play automatically and send to a dvdComping 2008 wins £4842 2009 wins £950.50 2010 Wins £140 2011 £00 -
"Office PowerPoint 2007 does not support the direct burning of content to any DVD formats. As an alternative, follow the steps below to copy your presentation to a folder, and then use DVD-burning software to import the content and create a DVD."

How about this one?
http://www.dirfile.com/x_vcd_player.htm
It creates VCD rather than DVD, but it may be good enough for what you want.Charlie0 -
Easy eay to do this use nero and create a VCD it is just a matter of dragging and dropping Iam sure you can do this with other burning software. This will play in most dvd players0

Thanks for all your replies, I have Nero 6 and have tried to repair the program and reinstall but it just keeps crashing, as for the others I dont have powerpoint and the other xvcd player is just a video player, unless I have looked at the wrong program. I will keep looking and hopingOld Faithful we roam the range together,

Have you tried photoshop elements? anything from version 3 up (now up to v5) will allow you to make a slideshow and either burn it to a VCD (medium resolution) or make it into a high res movie suitable to be converted to DVD.
You can get it for about £25 on ebay or £55 from a shop.
I have recently started using it and it is very easy, even lets you add a soundtrack and narration too.
I would imagine there are plenty of cheaper or free alternatives, this is just what I use.0 -
Depending on how technical you are, Windows Movie Maker (mine came free with my copy of XP) is a doddle to use. I picked up the basics in about 5 minutes. iI also gives the option of some nice fades between picures so there's no jumps and you can add titles and credits to claim your own hard work. Any problems, PM me and I'll walk you through it.
You then export the movie as an .avi and burn with whatever you normally use.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Just download a 15 day trial of Nero 7 for free from their website; http://www.nero.com/ena/index.html
Nero Vision 4, which is a part of the suite, will do the job.0
